EVANDER HOLYFIELD

The Holy Real Deal

Born in Atmore Alabama on October 19, 1962, Little Evander was never expecting to become a boxing world champion. When he was 4 years old, the Holyfield family moved to Atlanta Georgia, the town which has changed the history of an Evander Holyfield. In this city, Evander started learning boxing and joined a club, the Warren Boys Club in South Atlanta.

When he was only 8, Holyfield won the Boys Club Boxing Tournamnent , ten he qualified to compete in his first Junior Olympics. His success in amateur continued until he reached the peak when he won the lightweight boxing bronze medal in Los Angeles Olympic Games representing the US.

Then Holyfield started his debute in the professional, which then makes his a well known boxer, besides a legend. Nobody was expecting Holyfield could beat Tyson twice, which made him a new legend.

- Nov. 15, 1984, vs. Lionel Byarm, New York, NY (W6) - Professional Debut
- July 12, 1986, vs. Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Atlanta, (W15) - won WBA Cruiser WBA title
- May 15, 1987, vs. Ricky Parker, Las Vegas, NV (WKO3) - won IBF and retained WBA Cruiserwieght title
- April 9, 1988, vs. Carlos de Leon, Las Vegas, NV (WKO8) - Won WBC/Retained IBF&WBA cruiserweight titles.
- July 16, 1988, vs. James Tillis, Las Vegas, NV. (WKO5) - Debut the heavyweight career
- Oct. 25, 1990, vs. James Buster Douglas, Las Vegas, NV. (WKO3) - won IBF/WBA/WBC heavyweight titles.
- April 19, 1991, vs. George Foreman, Atlantic City, NJ (W12) - retained IBF/WBA/WBC Heavyweight titles.
- June 19, 1992, vs. Larry Holmes, Las Vegas, NV. (W12) - retained IBF/WBA/WBC Heavyweight titles.
- Nov. 6, 1993, vs. Riddick Bowe, Las Vegas, NV. (L12) - Lost IBF/WBA/WBC Heavyweight titles.
- Nov. 6, 1993, vs. Riddick Bowe, Las Vegas, NV. (W12) - won IBF/WBA heavyweight titles.
- Apr. 22, 1994, vs. Michael Moorer, Las Vegas, NV. (L12) - Lost IBF/WBA heavyweight titles.
- Nov. 9, 1996, vs. Mike Tyson, Las Vegas, NV. (WKO11) - Won WBA heavyweight title.
- June 28, 1997, vs. Mike Tyson, Las Vegas, NV. (WDQ3) - retained WBA heavyweight title.
- Nov. 8, 1997, vs. Michael Moorer, Las Vegas, NV. (WKO8) - retained WBA/won IBF heavyweight titles.
- Sept. 11, 1998, vs. Vaughn Bean, to retain WBA/IBF heayweight titles (scheduled).
