January started out like any other, just a new year....then on the 7th I got my Web Tv!!! That is when the year really took off!!
Jim and I had only sold our home five months earlier and were moved into a small apartment. We were looking forward to just a "normal" year!
We went to Washington, DC in May on our Harley. It was the Annual "Ride To The Wall". What an experience!! Literally thousands of motorcycles and people from all walks of life, there with the same purpose, to Honor Our Vets!! We rode in the parade, visited the Viet Nam Memorial Wall,Viet Nam Memorial Korean Wall,Arlington Cemetary, Kennedy's grave, all the things people do while there. It left a lasting memory in my heart and mind!!
The 4th of July we lead the parade in the village where we lived. The theme this year was, "Looking Over the Past 100 Years". What a special feeling to watch all the people waving and cheering as we rode by carrying the American and POW flags!! Just like being in Washington, only on a much smaller scale!!
Then the weekend of July 23rd we went to Buffalo, NY!! It was like the fireworks on the 4th of July!! We were there to meet seven ladies IN PERSON that we had met online!! Buffalo Girls Since our meeting the "bond" we share can not be put into words....it is a feeling!!
Then, in Auguust, Jim retired as planned!! There was a party to celebrate his 26 years of service with the Dept. of Corrections. It was a great evening full of family, friends and surprises for him!! Family and friends he did not expect to see were there. For pictures of this you can go toFamily
August still held more for us...we spent a weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio!! Why? To meet 7 more online friends!!Cincy Gang And more "bonds" were made there!! Everyone needs to experience this at least once in their life!!
Then Jim and I were planning a stay in Florida for the winter. In September I found us a place to rent in Port Orange, FL... via the internet of course!!! LOL
Everything was falling into place, just as we had planned. Then on September 25th....it seemed like the bottom had fallen out of our lives. Our 7yr old grandson, Nicholas passed away. We were devasted... how could this be happening to our almost perfect year? But, through the help of faith, family and friends we did get through it! Everyday we think of Nicholas...he will never be forgotten, even by people that had never met him! Weeks before he died for no reason other than the fact that I wanted to, I did a page about him. Nicholas Today and everyday, I am so thankful that this page was done!!
Since this page was done we have been in contact with others that have shared the same loss. They have sent us cards, letters, web sites....even sites dedicated in his and others memory. From Roseanne~ 12/22/99And they will never be forgotten!!
The day after Thanksgiving we headed to Florida!! We miss everyone at home, but are not sorry we made the move. It was our plan...even though there were rough spots along the way, it looks like we have gotten through a very good year!!
Now we have 2000 to look forward to....more plans.....January 22nd, we will be flying my mom to Florida for a week with us!! She is so excited, and so are we!!
In September we will be going to Branson,Missouri!!! We will be there for what should be the best week we can foresee in the year 2000. More than 40 online friends will be there to meet in person! Most will be doing this for the first time ever, and some of us will be reuniting again. But we will all be there for one purpose.....Meeting New Friends & More.....nice title for a Home Page!! LOL
If you have never looked at my Home Page, please do so. I have tried to make it easy for you to look at all, or part of it.
This page is dedicated
to a lot of people who have helped me so much
over the past year, and yes, I am going to list
