We came here to get away from the cold and snow in upstate NY, and feel in love with the Sunshine State, and the people here. We still plan to purchase and RV or travel trailer to live in, but in the meantime we are renting a mobile home.
We are in an adult community, full of the "youngest" seniors I have ever come across!! They have welcomed us with open arms. We have been here less than two months, and we call it home!
We are both working part time and loving
every minute. I found a cute little diner, and
was hired on the spot. Jim was looking for a golf
course to work at. Next thing we knew he was
cooking at the same diner!! We work together on
my two days, then he works one other. Most people
ask why we would want to work.....you need a
reason to get up in the morning. There is more
than enough time to take in all the beauty here.
We are literally minutes from the ocean, and less
than thirty minutes from Daytona Beach. They
say the sun is not good for you....I agree as far
as being in it 24/7....but it is always so bright
here and you can see it in the attitudes of the
people here. We love people, guess you could say,
we are people watchers!! And when a stranger
"smiles" just because, that is the best
feeling! So folks, looks like Florida has won
us over....we will still go back to NY in April
as planned, to get our Harley and other
belongings out of storage....then we are coming
back!! In order to find out if we truley want to
stay here we have to give it a year. Need to see
just how hot it gets in the summer, and to see
how I will do during the hurricane season!
:-) The man we work for,is holding our jobs
until we return in May....and doing the same for
us in September when we go to Branson,Missouri.
Who could ask for more!! See why we like it here
so far? :-) Soon the area will be overwhelmed with race car fans... Race Week Then again in March for Bike Week
Here we go again!! We decided not to give Florida a year...instead we have bought a mobile home on its own land!!
We are leaving as planned to go to NY, but when we return we will be moving into a new, permanent residence and will soon become, "Floridians"....do you believe this? LOL
On our way home we will be stopping in Binghamton, NY to meet with more Grannies from the News Group I have talked about in the past. There will be 13 of us....unlucky number? Not with this group!! Jim and I are looking forward to rekindling the friendships we have made with these ladies and their spouses and to meeting several others! After our meeting I will make yet more pages of all of us for all of you to enjoy.
Never did I realize how my life would change when we bought Web Tv!!
Once again I ask you to come back at a later date to see what more I can do!!
I plan to add some links to this page that I have enjoyed this past year using my Web Tv!
