Midnight
in the Garden of Good and Evil
Filled with the rich Southern accents and personalities,
this non-fiction book describes some of the inhabitants of
Savannah, Georgia in the 1980's. While some of the characters
consist of a lawyer who loses his license and a transvestite,
there is no doubt a voodoo woman, and an antique dealer accused
of murdering a young man living in his home becomes the center of
attention in this book. The major countenance of the book appears
to be the depiction of a society some may consider decadent and
stagnant. There is no doubt they had their own preferences in the
way they preferred to live ... and to think.
