Two pre-teen girls, one from a wealthy family and the other
from a family where money is less abundant, develop a friendship
that extends from summer to summer. The wealthy girl's parents
invite the other girl to summer with them at their summer home on
Martha's Vineyard and the two girls call themselves "sisters".
This story chronicles their friendship and trials as the pass
into adulthood. Once adults, their friendship changes as they
develop their individual personalities and goals. There is are
twists and turns and a surprise ending, just as in life, with all
the same heart rending reality.
