Tess Gerritsen
Bloodstream
Dr. Claire Elliot moves to the small town of Tranquility,
Maine situated on the shores of Locust Lake in order to provide
her son with a safer environment than the streets of Chicago ...
streets where her husband was killed. Her relief is short lived
when the children of the town start to become unexplainably
violent ... violent to the point of murder. After the first act
of violence in which a young HDDA patient of Dr. Elliot erupts in
class and kills his teacher, she finds herself being blamed for
the violent act. She had taken the young boy off a controversial
drug used for treating the disorder. As Dr Elliot and the
sherriff of Tranquility continue to investigate the source of the
violent outbreaks that are becoming more frequent, the Dr. finds
her son is endangered. She discovers a comspiracy to keep a
dangerous secret that is eons old reaching at least as far back
as the American Indians who had lived in the region. This secret
is one that threatens more than the residents of the small town
of Tranquility, Maine.
