Frank McCourt
Angelas'
Ashes
Pulitzer Prize winning author Frank McCourt writes about
his early life in America and Ireland. His alcoholic father
cannot keep a job during the Depression and World War II and his
Mother stays pregnant. McCourt loses three siblings before the
age of 6. This biography provides an imagery of poverty, the
Irish and their drink, patriotism, and religion. It gives
incredible insight into the romanticized view of Ireland and it's
inhabitants. This is story that could only be believed if told by
the person who lived it.
