William's parents are quoted as being John (#183) and Mary(#184) Kelso. Corroboration of this fact is awaited (2002).
Their inclusion depends on a reference (OPR?) found through IGI microfiche in the Mormon Library, by Jessie de Young, in 1994 which quotes a "William Kelso having been born to John and Mary Kelso of Glen Cloy, December 8th 1778.
While it has been thought that William's father lived in North Sannox, the birth date above quoted tallies with the age and year of death of William (#7) as quoted on gravestone in Sannox Cemetery MI #21
Both OPR and IGI give the surname spelling as SYM, although SIM has been handed down in the family.
