Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2 Scenes From A Memory (East West)

This, the 6th studio release from progressive rock kings Dream Theater, is without question their finest work to date. A concept album about a murder of a girl divided into two acts with nine scenes, like a Broadway play. On to the the music. There are so many good songs here. Tracks such as Overture 1928, Fatal Tragedy, and the brilliant Beyond This Life, take the listener on a roller coaster of time changes and mood swings that only D.T. can pull off. New keyboard player Jordan Rudess and guitarist John Petrucci really shine on these tracks while drummer Mike Portnoy and bassist John Myung create their own brilliance behind them. Vocalist James Labrie really shines on tracks The Spirit Carries On and Through Her Eyes. If your a fan of D.T. you already have this. If you have heard the band but don't have any of their prior work get this and work your way back. Great Stuff. (Charles Florio)

3-Stars: Excellent record. Definitely worth buying.
