The Searchers
Most arguibly the best Western ever made. although it was number 96 on the A.F.I 100 Years 100 Movies. By the what I hated was that they totally skipped Duke Movies Searchers sould have benn in the top 20 Red River should have been on there and Stagecoach was the only one in the right spot. Any way it does have the most memorable scene in any western, when the door closes on him at the end. I have asked many people what the best western is and a lot of them have said the Searchers. the Searchers stars John Wayne, Ward Bond, Jerfery Hunter, Vera Miles, Harey Carrey Jr., Natlie Wood and Hank Worden as Old Mose Harper (thank ya kindly). To me Old Mose is one of the best comedic charchters in any Ford flick. But Eathan Edwards is one of most well writen charchters of all time. The Movie is about John wayne searching with Jeffery Hunter for there neice when her family is massacred. As they search you see a dark side of Eathan, Llike the scene where they are hunting buffalo. Eathan after they kill one he keeps shooting to kill more so they won't feed comanches. They catch up with them and he tryies to kill his neice because she won't go back but Hunter steps in. Then they go back witha company of Texas Rangers. They raid in and Eathan catches up with debbie when she has already agreed to go back with Hunter. Eathan piacks her up in what looks like he could throw her down or choke her but he sings her in his arms and says, "Lets go home Debbie." She noddes and then they ride back and you see that most famous scene. I think the duke should have won an Oscar and Director and best picture. Even though it is more apreciated i still feel like it is better then a lot of people think.
