Writer Kevin Williamson may not be back to write this one though, as he has a huge deal with another company.

Jennifer Love Hewitt WILL be back for the sequel, but it probable that Freddie Prenze Jr. will or not but he'll probably be back for more slashing. Updated 1/10: I Know What You Did Last Summer II: The IMDB Studio Brief has reported the sad news that this proposed sequel to the 1997 horror hit, may have been shelved (ie. cancelled). Screenwriter Kevin Williamson turned down the offer to write the film's sequel, with no comment yet from Sony about what they plan to do with the project. Updated 2/4 Jennifer Love Hewitt is quoted saying she is working on filming the sequel!!! Updated 3/26 Brandy is starring in it!

Updated 5/15 I saw a Teaser trailer on the Jennifer Love Hewitt MTV Special. It shows her with a psychitrist (?) saying "There is no man with a hook" and then a man with a hook jumps out of the wall. The release is scheduled for sometime around Thanksgiving.
