When SCREAM 2 was in the making, writer Kevin Williamson already had a 5 page outline to SCREAM 3. But don't count on there being a SCREAM 4, 5, or 6, as mastermind Williamson says he's done after 3. The SCREAM 3 script is slated to be done by April 1998 and then released December 1998.

This next plot is rumored to have Sidney Prescott dropping out of college in pursuit to be an actress in Hollywood.

Matthew Lillard, who played Stu in Scream, will be back as Stu's twin brother.

Gale Weathers will also be returning, since she lived in the sequel.

Updated 1-10-98 Scream 3: Seems Wes Craven is being flooded with questions about "Scream 3", and has done the smart move of going on vacation and leaving his Official Site webmaster to deal with the questions. The guy apparenlty said that the rumour about Matthew Lillard returning as Stu's twin brother is false!!, likewise the rumour about writer Kevin Williamson already handing in the script. With Wes prepping his new non-horror film, Williamson busy working on a TV series, and Neve Campbell expressing disinterest in replaying Sydney during her mid-98 break, it's looking more and more likely that "Scream 3" won't be coming out till 1999.

Well apparently the plot is going to be centered around Sidney. She has apparently dropped out of college and have gone to Hollywood to further her acting career. There is a problem though, Neve Cambell has said that she would like to do other projects so that she is not just known as Sidney. If this is so than Dimension Films may offer her alot more money for the job.

Also Courtney Cox has apparently declined from doing Superman Lives because it interferes with the filming of Scream 3 and she has a contract with Dimension Films.

Updated 2-4 Apparently, Dimension Films is doing everything they can to get Scream 3 out by Christmas '98. But it is most likely that it won't be out until 1999 due to Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson's involvements in other projects.

The film is rumored to open with Alicia Silverstone portraying Cici in Sidney's version of what happened at Windsor College.

Rumors about Fauriza Balk (Nancy in The Craft which also stars Neve) being in the film may have been said that they aren't true by a person who claimed to work for the company who made the films. If its true-they may not have signed her on because Fauriza and Neve do not get along.

Wes Craven confirmed that Courteney Cox will definitely return to play the infoumous Gale Weathers, but David Arquette may not.

Other casting news is that Kevin Williamson was actually looking at one of the members from the cast of The Craft that which wasn't Fauriza Balk, but Rachel True (Rachel -the african american chick=) who is Neve's best friend. Another person who may be asked to be in the film is up-and-coming actor Ben Affleck [who is now in Phantoms with Scream stars Rose McGowan (Tatum Riley) and Liev Schrieber (Cotton Weary)]. The Miramax source also said they are looking at the entire remaining cast of Sarah Michelle Gellar's (Cici in Scream 2) Buffy The Vampire Slayer as possibilities - David Boreanaz (Angel) and Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase) in particular. Scream 3 makers have also been looking at some other not-so-well known up coming actors to portray roles in the film also. A few people they've been looking at are: Claudia Chapel (upcoming film Armageddon and Six Days, Seven Nights), Mark Vaughan (upcoming Species 2, The Boxer), Leslie Montgomery (upcoming film The Real Blonde), and Jacob King. Most likely, there will be a good mix of well-known and up-and-comers.

Time Magazine reports that Neve Campbell recently turned down an offer to star in Scream 3. Apparently Campbell was considering the Miramax film, Rounders, but was only offered the role, as long as she committed to working on Scream 3, plus $3 million to star in the sequel. Campbell was apparently offended at the strings attached in the offer and refused. Scream director Wes Craven has said that he won't direct the third entry in the series if Campbell doesn't return. This is a blow to all Scream fans because Neve Campbell and Wes Craven ARE the Scream franchise-and it wont be the same with out them.

Neve Campbell is rumoured to just signed up for Scream 3 for an estimated $16 million! Her contract included a clause that her character will be killed off so that she doesn't have to appear in any future sequels.

Rumour has it that Dewey will be in a wheelchair in Scream 3 while others say he is the killer due to a new theory. Plus other rumours say he will be married to Gale or will marry Gale.

Rumour has it that Neve's The Craft co-star Fairuza Balk is going to have a spooky role in Scream 3. Possibly as Stu's never mentioned sister.

It will take place after the survivors of Scream 2 have graduated from college.

The setting might be in New York, as Sid has pursued an acting career.

Rose McGowan may appear in a small role as it may be a prequel to Scream. This is highly unlikely though.

Kevin Williamson has already signed a reported seven-figure deal with Dimension to pen a script for 'Scream 3'

According to Kevin Williamson, SCREAM was always seen as a series of three films. The screenwriter says, "I always envisioned it as the Star Wars trilogy of horror." There is some concern that SCREAM might go the way of all other extended horror franchises and overplay their cinematic hand, but if Wes keeps the same creative staff and crew on hand as he has with Scream 2, then all might still be well.

Kevin Williamson has told Miramax that the script for the third installment should be in their hands by this coming April '98.

There has been unconfirmed speculation that Wes Craven may not direct the third film, but rather hand the film over to writer Kevin Williamson.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas may be in it as Sidney's cousin.

scene is where a movie actress (either Alicia Silverstone or Liv Tyler) gets killed on the movie set of Wes Craven's horror film. The actress' horror movie role eventually goes to Sidney. (The beginning scene victim will most likely be Alicia since she was originally supposed to be Cici in Scream 2 when she had to do another movie instead and was disappointed she couldn't be in Scream 2.)

Neve Campbell says she wants to do another film this summer other than Scream 3. This means that Dimension wil either offer Neve Campbell 16 million to reprise her role of Sidney or Dimension may have to delay the production for the film for a year.

cream 3 will be filmed this summer and is expected to be released December 1998 since Dimension Films wants to it to be released while Scream is "hot and fresh." Updated Aug. 12 SCREAM 3 has been set for a Dec. 99 release. Cotton Weary is now writing a book called the "Ghostface Murders," and evidently Gale Weathers is pretty upset about it.

Dewey will not be in a wheelchair as once thought. How can he be a suspect then if ghostface is running around?

There has been some talk of the Ghostface mask being "updated". The mask could possibly be red and he may carry a double sided axe instead of the traditional knife.

Neve Campbell has said that she is not to hot about making Scream 3. Neve said that if it comes down to making Scream 3 or doing another movie, she will pict the other movie. Neve also said that she will not do Scream 3 if Wes doesn't direct it. But Wes has recently said that he will direct the movie after he finishes current projects.

Courtney and David will return as Gale and Dewey for sure in Scream 3. It may be that Scream 3 will focus more on the Gale Weathers character more than Sidney.

Some other characters that will return are Neil Prescott, Cotton and Joel. My guess is that Joel will be taken care of pretty quickly.

There also was some talk of Derek surviving and returning, but this will most likely not happen.

I've heard that Kevin Williamson(horror movie god) does not want to release scream 3 until new horror movies as Halloween H20 Carrie 2 ect. all blow over.I have also herd that Sidney will infact die since Kevin wants to make this one the last.
