Shell Life
Within my Chambered Nautalus
I
Safely and securely lie
No scalding heat
or freezing cold
Invades the shell of my
stronghold.
No crying child or needful
friend
Disturbs the peace that dwells
within.
Locked safe within my fragile
shell
Alone, untouched, I choose to
dwell.
Here in my world of filtered
light
Changing little day or night.
Sailing
lightly o're Lifes Sea
Its crashing waves not
touching me
Ever snug and warm and
well
Within my luminescent shell.
Until
discarded on some beach
My fragile soul
escapes to reach
Its final haven from lifes
storm
Emerging where there is no harm
To
fear or discord to avoid
Safe where peace is
unalloyed.
