Finally, after three years of handwringing, I am relaunching the revised KTLowe.com. I've had this domain in some incarnation since 2003, usually intended to promote my own writing, thinking, ideas or whatever happens to come across the vacuous plains of my head. Thankfully, I haven't embarrassed myself much in my cyberlife, although the Internet Archive has certainly caught a few of my missteps. As I have two lives and do not see the need to keep them totally separate, I will do my best to retain the high-wire act that being an "artist" and "professional" seem to demand. So here, for the first time, I will combine both creative and academic work, with a heavy emphasis toward the former for now. I also intend to be anything but faceless, at the risk of being flip, precious or otherwise imbecilic (or, shudder, in bad taste). I see all websites as forms of advertising. I also think they are completely necessary in this current economy, and with that comes issues of licensing, branding, identity and mere functionality. At all times you, the viewer, may feel free to contact me for criticism, encouragement, inspiration, acknowledgement or a picture of a kitty cat. And you may reach me at ktlowe-at-umich-dot-edu (checked more or less daily, although I do take occasional net sabbaticals when real life intrudes) or professor_kechi-at-yahoo-dot-com (checked often enough for most purposes; the name is a childhood nickname coming closer to self-fulfilling prophecy). Lastly, all original content throughout this site is 2011, Creative Commons 3.0 - because it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Mashup, repost, build alongside, be creative, that's just fine and dandy. Just please, cite. Citing is awesome, and so are you. |
