Liz- I don’t care Carly…Jason…
Carly- Jason… you have the nerve to bring up his name to me. I told you to leave him alone.
Liz- [turning to look at Carly] And I told you I will see whoever I want to see. You have no say so about who I can and can’t see.
Carly- I wonder what Lucky…your boyfriend might have to say about what I saw today.
Liz- Go ahead and tell him. I don’t care…I’m tired of your threats. Either do it or…
Carly- This is not a threat little girl. This is a promise.
Liz- I don’t care…do what you think you have to do.
Carly- I will. No matter what I will keep you away from Jason.
Liz- [turning to go inside Kelly’s] Whatever Carly…
Carly- Don’t turn your back on me.
Liz- [opening the door]Goodbye Carly…
Carly- [angered Carly grabbed her arm and jerked her back around to look at her…pointing and yelling she continued] You will never be anything to Jason except an easy lay. He doesn’t want you.
Liz- And what makes you think that?
Carly- Why would he want someone everyone else has already had?
Liz- I’m not you Carly.
Carly- You’re useless…you’re a joke. [pausing] I’ve heard him Elizabeth.
Liz- Heard him what?
Carly- Talking and laughing about you to Sonny…
Liz- I don’t believe you…
Carly- Believe me…he told Sonny how he’s pretending to be your friend just to sleep with you. That’s why he took you out of town, the birthday thing, everything else he’s done for you…it was a setup. It was all lies…don’t you get it? yelling HE DOESN’T WANT YOU!
Liz- [hurt evident in her voice] You’re lying.
Carly- [laughing sarcastically] No I’m not…
Jason- [angrily] Yes you are!
Liz/Carly- [turning to face him speaking in unison] Jason…
Jason- What are you doing here Carly?
Carly- I…
Jason- I told you to leave her alone.
Carly- I had to…
Jason- [angrily]You had no right.
Carly- She deserves the truth.
Jason- Who’s truth…yours? You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Carly- Jason you couldn’t possibly want her. She’s…
Jason- None of your concern. How many times do I have to tell to stay away from her?
Carly- But Jason I care about…
Jason- You don’t care about me, you never have and you never will. The only person you care anything about is yourself.
Carly- That’s a lie and you know it Jason. I have always cared about you. I only want to see you happy.
Jason- [mocking her] You want to see me happy… that’s pretty damn funny coming from you.
Carly- Jason what are you talking about?
Jason- You want to see me happy… You want to see me happy… Don’t you get it Carly…I can’t be happy thanks to you.
Carly- I never did anything…
Jason- You destroyed my life Carly. From the moment I met you, you left destruction in your path. You ruined any chance of happiness I had. Robin…Michael…Sonny. You took away everyone who cared anything about me.
Carly- Jason…
Jason- And I won’t let you do it this time. I won’t let you take Liz away from me.
Carly- Jason she doesn’t care about you…it’s all lies. Why can’t you see that?
Jason- Carly I never thought it would come to this but I don’t…
Carly- You don’t what?
Jason- I don’t want you in my life.
Carly- She’s making you do this isn’t she? [yelling at Liz]You little witch…you can’t make him stop caring about me… You can’t make him…
Jason- She didn’t put me up to anything.
Carly- But you can’t really mean what you said.
Jason- That’s why I’m doing this Carly. I do mean it…I don’t want you a part of my life.
Carly- Jason…please you can’t…
Jason- As far as I am concerned you no longer exist. Is that what you want me to say? Will that make you understand that I can’t put up with your antics anymore? I can’t and I won’t. I’m done Carly…
Carly- I don’t believe you Jason. You can’t just walk away from everything we’ve had. You loved me…you still do and I love you too.
Jason- Yes…at one time I thought I loved you but now I know that was not possible. I wanted someone in my life so badly that I put up with everything you did because I thought in time you might change…you might show me in some way that you felt the same for me but you never did.
Carly- Jason I have always loved you…don’t let her cloud you to what we had.
Jason- What did we have Carly?
Carly- We had…
Jason- [shaking his head] It doesn’t matter…I’m done
Carly- [yelling] You can’t do this Jason. I won’t let you do this. I will always be a part of your life. We were a family once and you can’t forget us…you can’t…[as she sadly turned and walked away] Jason you will always love us…you have to…
Jason- I’m sorry…nothing she said was true…
Liz- I know…but are you ok? I mean…
Jason- I’m fine…it was coming to that for a while now…I just never wanted to face it.
Liz- What about Sonny?
Jason- I don’t know…I’ll figure it all out soon. I just don’t want you to…I want you to stay with me…
Liz- I’m not going anywhere…[smiling]you’re stuck with me.
Jason- [smiling]Good…
Liz- [smiling]Good…why did you come back?
Jason- [smiling]Actually…I was coming back for another kiss…but after what I just went through I’m gonna need more than a kiss now.
Liz- What else do you want?
Sensing Jason’s hurt despite his smiles Liz pulls him into her arms and they stand silent for a long time enclosed in each other’s arms. Breaking apart only when Jason said he needed to go and talk to Sonny about what just happened.
Chapter 38
~ Jake’s ~
Talking to Sonny would be hard. He was the only family that he had known but he knew what happened between him and Carly could put them on opposite sides. Liz was the only thing good left in his life and regardless to who objected with her she was where he wanted to stay. Feeling that after his talk with Sonny he would be in need a long ride he quickly headed to Jake’s to get his bike. He and Liz left so quickly he was unsure if they locked the door or not so before he could go to Sonny’s had to check his room to make sure everything is as it should be. As he rounded the corner he saw Lucky angrily leaning against his door waiting for him.
Lucky- We need to talk…
Jason-[ignoring him as he went to open his room door] I have nothing to say to you.
Lucky- This is about Liz…
Jason- What about her?
Lucky- I want you to stay away from her.
Jason- [turning to look at him] You want me to what?
Lucky- You heard me…stay away from her.
Jason- Who the hell are you to tell me anything?
Lucky- I’m her boyfriend.
Jason-Well then you have a funny way of showing it.
Lucky- What is that supposed to mean?
Jason- Exactly what I said.
Lucky- You don’t have to worry about how I’m treating Elizabeth…
Jason-But see that’s where you are wrong. I do worry and I do care because…
Lucky- Because why? You have feelings for Liz?
Jason- What if I do?
Lucky- [angrily] Then you need to back off. Elizabeth will never be a part of the life you live.
Jason-You can’t decide that.
Lucky- I can and I will. No matter if Liz and I are together or not I will do whatever I can to keep her away from you.
Jason- Liz has a mind of her own, if you don’t know by now, and she will do whatever she wants to do.
Lucky- Meaning what?
Jason- Meaning… that if she wants to be part of my life she will be.
Lucky- Not if I can help it.
Jason- Why are you even coming to me with this? If you think you have some great power over Liz then what I have to say should not matter.
Lucky- I’m just putting you on notice.
Jason-[shaking his head as he turned to go into his room]
Well you know where you can take your notices…
Lucky- You’re just using her…
Jason-[turning to face Lucky again] Using her how?
Lucky- You tell me…
Jason- You know what…this conversation is a waste of my time. You don’t control me…you don’t control Liz…
Lucky- I care about Liz…and I won’t let anything to happen to her.
Jason-You care about Liz… yet every time you are with her you leave her in tears. You throw all types of accusations at her…
Lucky- You don’t know what you are talking about.
Jason- [angrily yelling] She asked you if you loved her and you turned your back on her and you walked out on her…
Lucky- [yelling] Shut up…you don’t know…
Jason- I do know…I know because I’m the one who has to go and pick her up after you’ve torn her to pieces. I’m the one she cries to when you leave her in tears. I’m the one…
Lucky- You’re the one who’s taking advantage of her…
Jason- I’m taking advantage of her… yet when things don’t go your way you accuse her of doing things wrong. When things don’t happen how you want them to you bring up things in the past and lay a guilt trip on her.
Lucky- Just stay the hell away from Liz.
Jason- What if I don’t?
Lucky- Then you’ll have to answer to me.
Jason- [laughing] And that’s supposed to intimidate me?
Lucky- It should…I know things…
Jason- You know what I know? I know that you are so blinded by what you think is going on you are losing the best thing that could have ever happened to you.
Lucky- Who am I losing her to…you?
Jason- Maybe…but then again if you weren’t spending so much time with Deanna maybe you’d know that for yourself.
Lucky- You don’t know anything about Deanna…
Jason- I know enough. Next time before you start throwing accusations at Liz take a good look at the things you are doing.
Lucky- You bastard…you are gonna use whatever you think you found out to get Liz away from me.
Jason- No I’m not. See that’s the difference between you and me, I will never do or say something that would purposely hurt Elizabeth. I care too much about her to ever bring her the type of pain you’ve put on her.
Lucky- You know I used to look up to you. I used be in such awe that I worked for the big and bad Jason Morgan. Now I wish that I never knew you, I wish Liz had never turned to you…
Jason- But she did…
Lucky- And you are gonna use that to get what you can out of her.
Jason- Since you seem to know what I want…what exactly I’m I trying to get from her?
Lucky- Sex…all you want is to sleep with her and drag her down to your level…
Jason- What…are you afraid that I might succeed and…
Lucky- I wouldn’t be surprised if you did considering…
Jason- [instantly becoming angry]Considering what?
Lucky- [purposely trying to upset Jason even at the expense of Liz]Well considering the things Nikolas and others told me about her while I was gone…I wouldn’t be surprised if you and Sonny was passing her back and forth between the both of you.
[Furious over what Lucky said about Liz Jason suddenly rushed over and shoved Lucky hard up against the wall. With his hand pressed across the width of Lucky’s neck and through clenched teeth he whispered] Jason- If I ever so much as hear you disrespect Liz like that again I will kill you…do you hear me?
Lucky- [gasping for air] Yes…I hear you…I hear you…
Jason- How can you say that you love her and then say something like that about her?
Lucky- I don’t want her with you…
Jason- That’s not your choice…
Lucky- I won’t…
Jason- [slightly tightening his grasp around Lucky’s neck] Don’t do anything that you might regret later. Don’t do anything to hurt her. Do you understand me?
Lucky- [able to read the threats in Jason’s piercing blue eyes Lucky reluctantly whispered] Yes…
Jason- Good…because 0I would hate to have to tell you again…next time I might not be so nice.
Lucky- Whatever you say…
Jason- [slowly releasing his hold on Lucky] Don’t make the same mistake twice Lucky…
Lucky- [massaging his injured neck] You are sick…
Jason- [his voice still barely over a whisper] Remember what I said…don’t hurt her more than you already have…
Lucky- I never meant to hurt Liz it’s just…[noticing the look on Jason’s face] I won’t…
Jason-[slowly reopening the door to his room] You better not or else…
Cutting his words off as he closed his door he wondered what impact if any his words might bring to the situation. Lucky was trying to punish Liz for the love they lost and Jason couldn’t and wouldn’t allow that to continue. He put off going to speak to Sonny as he sat and figured out how best he could help Elizabeth. Regardless to what Jason threatened Lucky with he was determined to keep Liz from him. Jason was all wrong for her and he was going to be the one to show her that light. Lucky angrily slammed his door as he sat and tried his best to figure out what to do next.
