Chapter 49
~ Liz’s studio ~

Since hearing the truth from Brittany and Lucky’s display at Kelly’s Elizabeth had been avoiding Lucky. She couldn’t understand how he could justify being cruel to her as a way of keeping her from turning to Jason. She had been avoiding it but she knew what she had to do, she knew that now she had no choice but to sever all ties with Lucky. At one point she had hoped for at least friendship between them but she knew that even that would not be a possibility. She loved Jason and living in the fear of what hurt she might have caused Lucky when they broke apart no longer mattered. In the strangest of ways Carly finding out about her and Jason made things become a lot clearer. Even before the whole "setup" Elizabeth knew what had to be done. And knowing that Jason would be there for her regardless to who questioned their relationship only strengthened what she already knew. That loving Jason is the thing that matters, it is the only thing that helps her to go on.

[She slowly opened her door to Lucky’s impatient knocking] Liz- Lucky…come in.
Lucky- Elizabeth…I’m surprised you called me.
Liz- [trying best to hide her anger] Why?
Lucky- I hadn’t heard from you in a while so…
Liz- You could have easily called me.
Lucky- I guess… [pausing] What do you want?
Liz- Lucky…what is your problem? Why are you always so angry?
Lucky- Because to be honest I don’t feel like being here while you feed me a bunch of lines about how you are so sorry and you won’t…
Liz- [angrily] Well you don’t have to worry about that because I certainly didn’t call you here to apologize.
Lucky- [angrily] Then why did you call me?
Liz- Look Lucky despite everything I wanted this to be civil. I wanted to talk to you minus all the anger and attitude. Do you think that’s possible?
Lucky- Don’t you think I have a reason to be angry?
Liz- [matter-of-factly as she crossed her arms] No…no you don’t.
Lucky- I don’t? [incredulous look on his face] How can you sit there and say I have no reason to be upset?
Liz- [looking him in the eye] Easily…because I have not done one thing that would cause the type of attitude I’m constantly getting from you.
Lucky- [angrily] How’s Jason?
Liz- [not flinching] Fine…how’s Deanna?
Lucky- [angrily] Don’t bring her into this.
Liz- [angrily] And you leave out Jason.
Lucky- [shouting] Why should I? He’s the reason…he’s the cause of all of this…
Liz- [uncrossing her arms she yelled] Stop! This was never about Jason. You forever brought him in this because you were trying to place the blame on someone else when you should have been looking at yourself.
Lucky- Blame?
Liz- Yes blame. Whatever went wrong between you and me happened because of who we became and the things we did. This was never about Jason.
Lucky- Maybe that’s how you see it but the moment Jason came back, just like the first time, you ran after him every chance you got.
Liz- [sarcastically laughing] I ran after Jason.
Lucky- That’s how I see it…
Liz- [angrily] Then you saw it wrong.
Lucky- Whatever…I’m tired of constantly going round and round about this…
Liz- So am I…
Lucky- You know what…[heading toward the door to leave] I don’t have time for this.
Liz- [angrily] Then make time.
Lucky- [turning to look at Liz] Who are you talking to like that?
Liz- You…
Lucky- Eliza…
Liz- [holding up her hand to stop him] Lucky for the past couple of weeks you have continuously made me feel guilty for learning to live without you.
Lucky- [dumbfounded] What in the hell are you talking about? Jason…
Liz- [shaking her head] I’m talking about this…
[pausing] Yes Lucky there was a time I loved you with everything that I was, everything that I had. But unfortunately someone took you away from me and it devastated me. I didn’t think it was possible but somehow I got through that.
Lucky- [softly] Liz…
Liz- [looking at Lucky] No…this is my turn to talk.
Lucky- Whatever…go on…
Liz- [pausing as she took a deep breath] When you came back I thought that God had smiled down on me and gave me another chance to love you. But you didn’t love me back in return.
Lucky- That’s not my fault. Helena…
Liz- [slowly shaking her head and she softly laughed] I blamed myself…I thought that maybe I did something wrong. I thought…I thought that if I only held on long enough you would realize that you still loved me and you would come back to me.
Lucky- [softly] And I did…
Liz- But it wasn’t the same…by the time we found our way back to each other we had changed and the love wasn’t the same. It made us do the one thing we promised we would never do to each other.
Lucky- What?
Liz- We kept things from each other. We lied…
Lucky- [shaking his head] I never lied.
Liz- [softly] Yes you did…[looking directly at Lucky] and you’re doing it now.
Lucky- What are you talking about?
Liz- [looking down shaking her head as she spoke softly] Lucky I believed you. I believed everything you told me even when my heart told me not to.
Lucky- [coming to stand next to Elizabeth lightly holding her by the shoulders] That’s what a relationship is supposed to be about…trust.
Liz- [pulling away from him as she looked up at him with hurt filled eyes] I know Lucky. [shaking her head] I know about everything Lucky.
Lucky- [confused] What are you…
Liz- Brittany…Luke’s…the setup…everything…
Lucky- Who told you? Jason? He’s lying…
Liz- Brittany told me.
Lucky- Brittany…
Liz- Yes Brittany. Jason found her and brought her to me…
Lucky- He…he must have paid her off. Can’t you see…he’s desperate Elizabeth? He’s gonna do anything to make you believe him.
Liz- [shaking her head as she crossed her arms] He’s not the one that’s desperate Lucky…[pausing as she took a deep breath] It’s over…
Lucky- What’s over?
Liz- [speaking calmly] Us…you and me…this lie of a relationship we’ve been living for God knows how long.
Lucky- [shaking his head] No…I’m not going to let you leave me. I’m not…
Liz- [walking away from Lucky] You don’t have a choice.
Lucky- Liz…look…I know what I did with Brittany and everything was wrong…but we…we can work through that…I mean we can make us work.
Liz- What about Deanna?
Lucky- What about her?
Liz- Lucky I’m not dumb…
Lucky- I never said you were…
Liz- Yes you did…but that doesn’t matter now. Lucky I see the looks between the two of you. I see how your whole demeanor changes when she walks into the room. You love her and…
Lucky- [shaking his head] No I don’t…I…I still love you.
Liz- No you don’t. You haven’t for a long time and that’s ok. I have someone now who does.
Lucky- It’s a mistake Liz. Even if Jason does love you, you deserve something better. I promise you…we can work through this… [coming over to hug Elizabeth] I still love you and I know you love me too. [Lucky quickly kissed her]
Liz- Lucky stop it…Lucky stop [pushing him away] I love Jason and he’s who I want to be with.
Lucky- [angrily] He’s only gonna get you killed. He doesn’t care about you.
Liz- You can believe whatever you want but I know Jason feels the same way about me that I feel for him.
Lucky- Elizabeth you can do better…
Liz- If there is better than Jason then I don’t want it. All that I want is Jason.
Lucky- [furiously] Elizabeth think…you are ruining your life…
Liz- The key word is my…this is my life. Jason is who I choose to be with.
Lucky- [yelling] Dammit no! I’m not going to let you…
Liz- Lucky I want you to leave.
Lucky- [shaking his head] Not until you hear me…
Liz- [pushing at Lucky unable to take anymore of his bashing Jason and their relationship] Get out! I’m so sick and tired of people trying to tell me that loving Jason is wrong…
Lucky- Jason is taking advantage of you…after he sleeps with you he’s going to leave you.
Liz- That won’t happen…
Lucky- You don’t know that Elizabeth…
Liz- Yes I do…
Lucky- [looking at her] Did you sleep with him?
Liz- [shaking her head] That’s none of your business.
Lucky- [yelling] Answer me dammit! Did you sleep with him.
Liz- [shaking her head] Why do you even care?
Lucky- [grabbing her by the shoulders] Because I need to know…I need to…
Liz- [pulling away from him] Well I’m sorry…I’m not telling whether or not I slept with Jason. Whatever happened…
Lucky- [shaking his head] You did…
Liz- Whatever happened is between me and Jason and no one else.
Lucky- How can you be so stupid?
Liz- [yelling] Get out Lucky…
Lucky- Carly was right…
Liz- About what…
Lucky- For the longest she has been telling me that you are worth nothing…not even the time it takes to tie my shoes…and I defended you. [sneering] Now after all this time I see she was right.
Liz- [the hurt from his word obvious in her eyes] I’m sorry you feel that way…
Lucky- [realizing his words and their effect] Liz…Liz I’m sorry.
Liz- [shaking her head] I’m not…now I know how you really feel.
Lucky- [pleading] No it’s not…I was wrong to say… Liz- No I was wrong. Despite everything I thought we could still be friends I guess not.
Lucky- Liz…
Liz- Leave Lucky…
Lucky- All I was trying to do was trying to protect you. All I was doing was trying to keep Jason from hurting you.
Liz- [softly] Jason was never the one hurting me.
Lucky- He will…
Liz- Goodbye Lucky… [Closing the door on his words she slowly sank against the door still hearing the things he was yelling.]
Lucky- [yelling outside her door] Liz listen to me…please! He’s only going to hurt you! He’s only going use you and then leave you! You have to hear me…
[Yanking the door to her studio open] Liz- That’s it! I’ve listened to all I’m going to about Jason…
Lucky- No I’m not finished…
Liz- [shaking her head angrily] Yes you are. Lucky I took a lot of crap from you because I mistakenly thought that I was in the wrong. I thought that me being with Jason was wrong. Well it’s not. If I want to be with Jason I will be and nothing you say or do will change that. This is my life and who I choose to let share it is my business.
Lucky- Liz…
Liz- [trembling from anger] You stand here and ask if I slept with Jason ready to pass judgment on me…but guess what it’s not you place.
Lucky- I care about you…
Liz- [shaking her head] Did I ask you if you were sleeping with Deanna? No…no I didn’t. Do you want to know why? Because I realize I don’t care what you do. I don’t care who you do it with…
Lucky- This is Jason talking through you.
Liz- See that’s where you are wrong…[pausing] If it was up to Jason I wouldn’t be talking to you now…he would. But no…I told myself over and over that I could still care about you after everything, I told myself that I was a big enough person to overlook what you put me through…just to make this easier on the both of us. But guess what I’m not.
Lucky- There were reasons behind what I did.
Liz- There is no way you can justify what you put me through. There is no way you can justify the things you said to me. [laughing] You know what’s funny…when Jason first came back I was going to deny what I felt for him because I thought I owed you some type of obligation. I thought…
Lucky- Elizabeth you have to realize…
Liz- I don’t have to realize anything. I know what I need to know. We…you and me are finished. I don’t want anything else to do with you.
Lucky- Elizabeth…
Liz- No…nothing you say is worth listening to. Don’t…don’t come back here. I can’t tell you to stay out of Kelly’s because your family owns it but I don’t…I don’t want to talk to you. If and when you come into Kelly’s I’ll either make myself scarce or I will have someone else serve you.
Lucky- [reaching out to take her hand]Elizabeth…
Liz- [pulling her hand out of his reach] No. I don’t want anything else to do with you…I have nothing else to say to you Lucky.
Lucky- Elizabeth let me…
Liz- [shaking her head as she closed to door] No.
Lucky- [yelling hoping she would open the door again]Elizabeth…Elizabeth please…

Lucky stood outside her door a while longer yelling her name. When he received no response he knew staying out there any longer would be futile at best. He needed to go rethink the things he was doing. If it were the last thing he did he would keep Elizabeth away from Jason whether she wanted him to or not. He simply needed to change his tactics but he knew before long he would get exactly what he wanted. Elizabeth free from Jason and his power over her. He kissed Deanna as he sat down next to her quickly forgetting most of the things Elizabeth yelled at him. It would take some time for her to cool off and when that time rolled around he would make his next move.

Lucky had been gone for at least 15 minutes when she heard another knock on her door. This time however as she slowly walked to the door a smile gently came over her face. Even before opening the door she knew Jason was there waiting to comfort her. Jason never wanted Elizabeth to face Lucky alone but he knew it was something she had to do. She had to end things on her terms. Opening the door realized Jason with a concerned look on his face that he thought he had done his best to cover.

Jason- [softly] Are you ok?
Liz- [nodding as she softly replied] I am…now that you are here.
Lucky- [softly smiling] Good…
Liz- [opening the door wider] Come in…
Jason- Are you sure…because…
Liz- [nodding] I’m sure.

As Elizabeth slowly closed the door behind him Jason enclosed her in his arms for a tight embrace.

Liz- [hugging him tightly] I’m…I’m…How did you know I needed you to hold me?
Jason- [softly] I knew…and I’ll hold you as long as you need me too.
Liz- [softly] Even if it's all night?
Jason- [softly] Even then…
Liz- [whispering] Good…
Lucky- [whispering] It will be.

For the rest of the night Elizabeth stayed in Jason’s arms, loving him as he loved her in return. love they both shared. Things were how they finally should be and nothing or no one could take that from them. Or so they thought…

Chapter 50
~ A small B&B on the outskirts of Connecticut ~

After breaking away from Lucky Jason guessed right that Elizabeth would need time away. Time to release the pain of failed love and time away from the judgment sure to come once others found out about their breakup and she and Jason’s subsequent relationship. So as she lay sleeping in his arms he watched her. Marveling at her beauty and how much she meant to him. He never planned on loving Elizabeth. When he came to her rescue in Jake’s that night he only thought he was helping his kid sister’s friend who got in over her head in a bad situation. But that night as he rode her on his bike and her arms wrapped tightly around his waist something changed. To see her smile after seeing such despair and knowing that he was partly the reason behind that smile gave him a high he hadn’t felt in a long long time. It started out as a few bike rides but developed into so much more. The night he was shot his life was changed forever. Not because of the near fatal assault but because on that night he realized that he was in love with her. When he held her in his arms and danced slowly Jason knew that he loved Elizabeth. And when she found him and cared for him through his injury despite numerous objections only cemented her in his heart. Coming back this time he did not know what to expect as far as they were concerned but after talking to Elizabeth that night on the docks he knew that this time…this time she would have to be his completely. Elizabeth stirred in her sleep and woke to find Jason watching her.

Liz- [stretching] What are you going?
Jason- [softly] Nothing…go back to sleep.
Liz- [snuggling closer to Jason] Please tell me you were not watching me sleep.
Jason- [smiling] Hey it’s only fair…
Liz- Huh? How is that fair? I look terrible when I’m sleeping.
Jason [laughing] Well yeah…
Liz- [playfully hitting at him] Jason…
Jason- [bringing her closer to him as he bent to kiss her forehead] I was only playing. You're beautiful sleep or woke.
Liz- [softly] Thank you…
Jason- [kissing her softly again] You’re welcome.
Liz- It’s not time to go is it?
Jason- Yes and no…
Liz- Yes and no…which one is it?
Jason- Depends on if you want to go back to Port Charles today.
Liz- [quietly] Oh…is that why you were watching me? Were you trying to decide when to wake me up and tell me?
Jason- [shaking his head smiling] No. I was watching you for two reasons...
Liz- What are they?
Jason- [smiling] Well you did get to see how I looked sleeping when we were at "Cupid’s End" so…
Liz- [laughing] And the other reason…
Jason- [devilish smile] Well…you had such a satisfied look in your face I was wondering if it was from something I did or…
Liz- [blushing] Jason…
Jason- [laughing] I’m only playing but…
Liz- [smiling] Jason…
Jason- [smiling] Hey I was just trying to offer my services.
Liz- [surprising herself and Jason as she replied] And what a service it is.
Jason- [smiling]Well… I…I…I’m at a lost for words…
Liz- [slowly licking her lips] Well…what I have in mind you don’t really need words for.
Jason- [positioning himself over Liz as he bent to kiss her] Well if that’s the case…

His words were cut off by a passionate kiss from Elizabeth. It was supposed to be a gentle kiss but Jason did something to her she couldn’t quite explain. Whatever it was she hoped it would never end. They made passionate love over and over that morning exploring other in ways they never had before. As their last love making session ended they collapsed back on the back spent gasping for air.

Jason- Well I guess that answers my question…
Liz- [a slow satisfied smile creeping on her face] Yeah you were right…it was better with me on top or did you have another question in mind.
Jason- [laughing] What have I done to you?
Liz- [smiling] Quite a bit as a matter of fact…I could refresh your memory if you’ve forgotten.
Jason- I like the sound of that but give me a second to catch my breath.
Liz- [smiling seductively] Oh that’s ok baby …I’ll be in control this time…
Jason- [smiling] Well…

Elizabeth pushed Jason on his back and slowly climbed on top of him bending to kiss him hungrily. Lavishing kisses on his mouth and face she slowly began to kiss and taste his neck. His moans only feeding her desire she slowly and succulently kissed him from his head to waist pausing only before she descended lower only to be stopped by Jason.

Liz- [softly] Jason I…
Jason- [shaking his head] No… it’s…it’s my turn…
Liz- [softly] Jason…
Jason- [softly] Shhh… I want to please you…

Jason quickly reversed their positions and hovered over Elizabeth as it was his turn to slowly kiss and taste the places of her. He began his descent down her body effectively kissing her from head to toe. As he started back up her body he paused in the valley of her and softly kissed her womanhood.

Liz- [breathlessly] Jason…
Jason- Shhh…

Jason slowly began to kiss and lick all that was she. Elizabeth arched her back moving to meet each of his ardent licks. Crying out when he kissed and licked her until satisfied. Moving from between her legs Jason came to her and slowly kissed her as he gently entered her again. Creating a rhythm they made love to as they slowly and tenderly told without words what they felt. Clutching each other tightly at the height of their lovemaking as the world around them erupted into with vibrant sensations.

Liz- [softly as she held him tightly] Jason I lo…
Jason- [softly as he nodded his head] Shhh… I know.

They lay in each other’s arm speaking no words lost in the moment they just shared and the words they wanted to say. Elizabeth eventually drifted off to sleep as Jason lay besides her still thinking of the love they just shared. Could it be that she was going to tell him that she loved him and if so why did he stop her? Jason had longed to hear those very words spoken from her and he badly wanted to tell them to her in return. What made him stop he did not know but he prayed that the time would come again where she told him exactly how she felt about him. Kissing her softly on the lips he slowly tried to join her in slumber. After several hours of watching her sleep Elizabeth woke again to Jason’s smiling face.

Liz- [softly] What are you smiling at?
Jason- [softly] You…
Liz- [smiling as she closed her eyes again] Ok…I just wanted to make sure.
Jason- [smiling] I have a surprise for you.
Liz- [opening her eyes again speaking softly] What is it?
Jason- [smiling] I can’t tell you…I have to show you. Come on…
Liz- Jason I’m not dressed…I gotta
Jason- [shaking his head] Shhh…come on…

Jason smiled as he gently lifted her and carried her towards the bathroom. When they entered the bathroom much to Elizabeth’s surprise Jason had drawn her a bath and filled it with floating rose petals.

Liz- [softly] Jason…when did you…
Jason- [smiling as he still held her naked body next to his] While you were sleeping…
Liz- [softly] Why?
Jason- [softly kissing her] Because you deserve it…

As Jason gently lowered Elizabeth into the warm water she sighed in comforted pleasure. The water gently washed over her naked body and warmed her completely.

Jason- [softly] Lean back… [Jason carefully washed Elizabeth’s hair as she relaxed in the tub.]
[As he got up to leave]Liz- [softly as she reached for him] Don’t go…
Jason- I did this for you. I wanted to you to be happy before we have to return…
Liz- [softly] I am happy. Jason…I’m always happy when I’m with you because everything you do makes me happy.
Jason- [softly] Elizabeth…
Liz- [smiling] But I’ll be even happier if you stay with me. Please...

Jason quickly disrobed and slipped into the tub with Elizabeth. As he lay between her legs wrapped tightly in her arms she quietly thanked him. Jason leaned back and Elizabeth softly kissed his forehead and all thoughts of their return to Port Charles and the reaction they were sure to get was forgotten. Their leisurely soak lasted for hours as they sat laughing and talking about everything and nothing and all things in between. When finally they realized that the water had gone cold Jason tenderly wrapped Elizabeth in a warm towel and carried her again to the bed. He slowly dried her off tenderly kissing each spot he dried. Jason rubbed her with warm oils and joined her again on the bed. They lay naked wrapped only in each others arms succumbing again to the love that flowed between them. Knowing that in the morning they were to return home to face all that came at them. As she slept Jason looked down at Elizabeth’s beautiful face.

Jason- [smiling softly he whispered careful not to wake Elizabeth] I love you…

Jason pulled her closer to him and placed one last kiss upon her forehead before sleep claimed him too.
