She loved Lucky, that much she knew. But something just did not seem right. She held on to this great love she knew they shared, but now that they were together again something was missing. The relationship was not the same and it had little to do with his brainwashing and the fight it took for him to regain his old self. Her heart told her whenever he was around that things had changed but she felt a sense of obligation where Lucky was concerned. He stood by her through the worst times in her life and it was only right that she stayed by his. She wasn’t sure when her feelings changed bur she knew in her heart of hearts that they weren’t meant to be. She wished that they could somehow regain the magic they once had, but she knew it was impossible. It wasn’t that she was unhappy with Lucky but she wanted more. There was a time when her heart would skip a beat and beat faster whenever he was around, but lately it just wasn’t the same. She found herself forcing a smile and pretending as if she had the greatest love when others were around. How much longer she could keep this façade going she did not know. But she did not want to bring Lucky any more pain. How much would she have to endure just to keep Lucky happy? She thought long and hard about when she was last happy and it kept coming back to…what difference did it make? He was gone and even if he came back it could never really be. Thoughts of him were the only thing that made her smile. Lately the only way she could appear happy with Lucky was to think of him…think of Jason.

Maybe coming back to Port Charles was not a good idea. Sonny and Carly were happy, well as happy as those two could be together. The Q’s were the Q’s, that would never change. Michael and Emily were both safe and happy. What else was there for him? He thought of Elizabeth and could not keep from smiling. He wondered if she was happy and if she and Lucky found what they once had. Was Lucky able to bring that smile to her face that made her even more beautiful? The smile that could make even the strongest man fall, the smile that haunted his dreams at night. Being on his motorcycle didn’t feel the same without her there. Her pressed against him, her arms around his waist and the wind at their backs. There was no other feeling quite like that. Thoughts of Elizabeth came to him a lot lately. Truth be told, she had been the only thing he’s thought of. Even when he was in Puerto Rico taking care of Sonny’s business, thoughts of her never left him. He’d think about the first time he took her for a ride; or the first time he let her steer the bike. He’d think about when he danced with her when she was missing Lucky…Lucky that’s who she was with. That was who she said made her happy. More than anything he wanted Liz to be safe, happy and loved, but he couldn’t give that to her with his lifestyle. Hopefully Lucky was the person who gave her this. Coming back to Port Charles was a risk because this time he knew the only thing that needed protection was his heart. And whether she knew it or not, Elizabeth held it in her hands and this return trip was about her happiness.
