Son of late race legend Gilles Villeneuve,Jacques is only the second man to emulate his father at winning a grand prix,the ex World Champion entered Formula1 racing with a bang in 1996 as reigning American IndyCar circuit champ. One of the few old school `characters' in Formula1 at the moment, if he isn't banging on about how he wants to drive much, much faster he is shocking the paddock with ridiculously coloured hair. Back in 96, he finished second in his first Grand Prix and went on to complete a Williams 1-2 behind Damon Hill. The next year the title was his, nut after the rule changes at the start of 98, Williams were left off the pace, and the season peaked with a couple of back-to-back 3rd places in Germany and Hungary.
