He was only two, hiding away in the dark,
Cringing in terror of what will happen to him
again,
Clasping his hands and praying with all his might,
Wishing Jesus would save him from his awful plight,
Not understanding what he had done,
To cause his father to hurt him so,
"Oh, why does his daddy have a heart of stone?"
Daddy finds him, he opens the door,
The small, round child looked at him in horror,
But then–
The small child looks up at his daddy,
With a grin he sings these praises unto him:
"Jesus loves me this I know,
For the bible tells me so",
His daddy then drops to his knees,
Praying forgiveness, Praying God hears his pleas,
"Forgive me Lord I know he's only two,
I know hurting him wasn't the right thing to do,
I have an unhappy life,
But that's no exuse,
Oh, why did I cause so much abuse?
For I know he is only two."
Then the small child stood up,
Put his arms around daddy,
And said, "Jesus loves and forgives you and I do
to."
