God's Child

His face shallow–sunken
Running nose; crying in pain.
Starvation had set in.
What that child would do for a morsel of food.
Knowing his mother would feed him if she could.
His mother holding him close to her breast;
Giving him peace, giving him rest.
Praying to God to take her starving child's pain away.
She knew his pain would be gone by the end of the day.
The angels were coming to take God's child home.
The mother didn't worry because she knew her child would never be alone.
For God's child will forever be in His care.
With no more pain, starvation, and not another tear.

By Pamela Sutton

"Please find it in your heart to help stamp out starvation. Children are so innocent and they need our help."
