Cautious Eyes The Mirror

cautious eyes the mirror
my face leaning nearer
catch a shadow peering
disappears only to return leering

dim the light
as i leave
shivers, reflects
on what i have seen

can it be real
this thing that i feel
is the reflection i
think i see
hallucination or reality?

mirror reflected
netherworld
like a silver limpid pool
haunts laughing
calls me a fool

beckons and frightens
misunderstood
throat, vise tightens
grim reaper's hood

homecoming
reckoning
hell to pay
beckoning

mirror cracked
silhouette
i remain there
yet

saddened eyes
peering out
haunting you
from the inside out

harvest you
when the lights are dim
based upon
the reaper's whim
