The U.S.S. Saratoga was first commissioned by the United States Government on August 26, 2025 to be used as a defensive vessel. At that time the Genetics war had been long over and most conflicts had been settled through peacefull means. The primary purpose for the fleet at that time was for protection against future threats, especially from the unknown forces in the galaxy.

BUT

The Saratoga disappeared. She had been hijacked by the remaining genetically engineered race of supermen, led by Khan Noonian Singh. Appearing in the 24th century in the Delta Quadrant, The Saratoga's Crew found themselves in the Altair Planetary System. It was decided that this would be the new home of the USS Saratoga, and her crew. Settling on the 7th planet in the system, the crew went about exploring their new home. It was found that this system was the former home of the "Krell" The surface of the planet was bare, but underground, the technology of the Krell was still functioning. This new technology was put ot use. The decendents of Khan Noonian Singh advanced from 21st century technology, to at present, 24th century technology. As Krell science is explored, and more fully understood, these advancements will surpass current science. Currently there are 11 planets in the Altair System. As the population grows, and colonists come into the Altair System, the other 10 planets will be colonized. The Altairians have created a world, a Planetary System, A Government, A Military Force, A Starship Fleet (both Military, and Commercial). We Look Forward to our Future
