Agamemnon
Class Destroyer
The Altair Agamemnon Class Destroyers are one of the most
powerfull ships in the current Altair Fleet. They were the first
new ships designed, and built after the Saratoga's arrival in Altair
space, and they incorporated Krell technology. These ships are
3290 ft, in length and are equipped with phasers, photon torpedoe
tubes, fore and aft. They also retain original weapon systems from
earth. These weapons are pulse laser cannons, and phalanx missiles.
The destroyer also carries Hammerhead, and Starfurry fighters.
This ship also carries a compliment of ground troops for planetary assault.
Orion Class Assault Carrier
The Orion Class Assault Carrier is a direct decendent of the original
USS Saratoga that came thru the time vortex. This is the B model.
It was designed to carry the maximum firepower, fighters, and troops.
The Orion Class carries weapons array of phasers, photon torpedoes
tubes, fore, and aft. Also the orion class retains the original waepons
systems of the original Saratoga. These include pulse laser cannons, 48
phalanx missile batteries. This class also carries 148 Hammerhead fighters,
24 starfury fighters, 4 barracuda fighter bombers, 14 stingray recon craft,
16 intersolarsystem armoured personnel carriers, 8 sub orbital shortrange
transport craft, and 8 LC 19 landing craft.
The length of the Orion Class Assault Carrier is 3300 Ft.
Jupiter Class Battleship (Dreadnaught)
The Jupiter Class Battleship is the most powerfull of all the Altair Capitol
ships. It carries a weapons array of fore, and aft phaser banks, fore,
and
aft photon torpedoe tubes. This class carries some original earth armament.
This includes 24 pulse laser cannons, 24 phalanx missile batteries.
All Jupiter class Battleships are currently being upgraded, and retrofitted
with phased array missile batteries, and quantum missile batteries.
Air group includes, 48 Hammerhead fighters, 2 barracuda fighter/bombers
4 stingray recon craft, 12 sub orbital shortrange transport craft, 12 LC19
Landing Craft. Ground forces - 3 battalion landing teams (Marines),
1 regimental combat team (Army) 2 companies of Navy SeaBees.
The length of the Jupiter Class Battleship is 3220 Ft.
Apollo Class Battleship (Dreadnaught)
The Apollo Class Battleship is the fastest
of all the Altair Capitol
ships. It carries a weapons array of fore, and aft phaser banks, fore,
and
aft photon torpedoe tubes. This class carries some original earth armament.
This includes 24 pulse laser cannons, 24 phalanx missile batteries.
All Jupiter class Battleships are currently being upgraded, and retrofitted
with phased array missile batteries, and quantum missile batteries.
Air group includes, 36 Hammerhead fighters, 4 barracuda fighter/bombers
4 stingray recon craft, 10 sub orbital shortrange transport craft, 12 LC19
Landing Craft. Ground forces - 2 battalion landing teams (Marines),
2 regimental combat teams (Army) 1 battalion of Navy SeaBees.
The length of the Apollo Class Battleship is 3175 Ft.
Neptune Class Heavy Cruiser
The Neptune Class Heavy Cruiser is the workhorse of the Altair
Fleet. It is the ship most used for planetary bombardment. It also
carries enougth heavy armament for ship to ship encounters. Weapons
systems include phaser banks, photon torpedoe tubes, quantum
missile batteries, and 24 barracuda fighter bombers, 4 stingray recon
craft. For protection of the Neptune class from hostile Warships
there are 24 Hammerhead, and 24 Starfury class fighters carried
in the Hanger bays. The length of the Neptune Class is 2970 Ft.
Solar Class Destroyer
The Solar Class Destroyer is a very heavily armed warship.
It carries in its weapons system 2 phaser banks, fore, and aft.
Photon torpedoe tubes fore, and aft. 8 laser cannons, 8 phalanx
missile batteries. Air squadron 12 hammerhead fighters, 2 stingray
recon craft, 2 devastator fighter/bombers, 1 intersolarsystem
armoured personnel carrier, 2 sub orbital short range transport
craft, 4 LC19 landing craft, and 2 companies of assault Marines.
Super Nova Class Assault/Transport
Carrier
Explorer Class Research ship (Commercial Configuration)
The Super Nova Class Has a dual role in the Altair Planetary System. In
the Military
role, it is an assault/transport carrier. It has the capacity to carry
3 full divisions of
troops with supporting equipment. It also carries 2 complete air wings.
The air wings
are comprised of 250 fighter craft, and assorted support craft.
In the Research role, the Super Nova Class is equipped for interstellar
travel lasting
up to 5 years. It has complete on board research laboratories covering
all the scientific
disiplines. The Super Nova Class is one of the newest Starships in the
Altair Fleet.
It is 4 kilometers long, and has a beam of 1/2 kilometer.

Kobyoshi Maru - Academy Training
Vessel
The Flagship vessel of the Altair Military Academy. It has a top speed
of warp 5,
and a limited range of weaponry. All Academy students spend a 90 day tour
of duty
aboard the Kobyoshi Maru before graduating from the Academy.
The Kobyoshi Maru is 975 Ft. in length. It carries a crew compliment of
75 permanent personnel (Instructors).
IntersolarSystem Armoured
Personnel Carrier
The IntersolarSystem APC is used to carry fully armed combat troops. It
can carry
up to one fully equipped battalion of troops with all support equipment.
It is used
for long range transport, up to 500,000,000 Kilometers.
Sub Orbital Shortrange Transport
The Sub Orbital Shortrange Transport Craft is used to Land up to one Company
of fully Armed, and equipped troops. It has a range of 300,000 Kilometers.
LC19 Landing Craft
The LC19 Landing Craft is used for landing Assault troops from orbit.
It carries up to 1 platoon of fully armed, and equipped Troops.
It has a range of 100,000 Kilometers.
Nebula Class Military/Research
Station
The Nebula Class Station is used by both the Military, and the Office of
Scientific
research and Development (Off World), of the Altair Scientific Community.
In its
Military role, it is the eyes, and ears of The Altair Planetary System.
Keeping
watch for hostile intruders into Altair space.
In its research role, it is stationed in orbit above whatever planet that
is being
investigated by our Scientific teams. It has complete laboritories in all
disciplines.
Omega Class Research Starship
The Omega Class research ship is the backbone of the Altair Planetary
Systems Off World Scientific research. This vessel is the first ship that
is sent on expeditions to far off worlds. When a world is found that
warrants further investigation, then the Nebula Class Research Station
is called in. This vessel is used on missions that do not exceed 6 months
in duration since that is the limit of on board supplies. For longer missions,
the Newer Explorer Class Research ship is used.
Colonial Commercial Starliner
The Colonial Commercial Starliner is used to transport civilian
Passengers anywhere in the Galaxy. There is a regular schedule
to All known inhabited planets. In an emergency the Starliner can
be converted to carry troops. In the role, it can carry up to 1
Regiment of fully armed, and equipped troops.
Commercial Freighter
The Commercial Freighter is used by the Merchant Marine as a
commerce carrier. It is used to transport all manner of goods to
and from the Altair Planetary System from trading partners throughtout
the galaxy. It is Approimately 1.5 kilometers in length.
AFS AMF OUTER LIMITS HERCULES CLASS
MILITARY STATION
Hercules Class
Military Space Stations are currently undergoing space trials. If successfull,
they will
be stationed at points around the Altair Systems soverieign space, and
at points on the outer rim
of known space. They will act as command posts (when occupied by flag officer),
listening posts
(for intel gathering), Gathering points for any military action taking
place in their vacinity etc..
This type station will also be used as Starbases housing Command and control.
When used as such,..the starbase will be Military Headquarters for that
particular sector, but also retain it's combat Status.
It carries a weapons array of mutiple Phaser Banks, Photon Torpedoe Tubes,
32 Pulse Laser Cannons, 32 Phalanx Missile Batteries, and 32 Phased Array
Missiles. It also has full shield capabilities. The Hercules Class Carries
a complete Airwing of Various Fighter, and transport
craft. Ground Forces (can be increased in times of hostilities) include
6 Battalion Landing Teams
(Marines), 4 Regimental Combat Teams (Mobile Infantry) 1 Battalion of Navy
SeaBees.
Crew Compliment: 5500 Officers, and crewman (this does not include combat
forces listed above)
The Hercules Class Station is Approx. 4.5 kilometers wide, and 1.75 kilometers
high.
Number of this class station to be deployed after space trials is not yet
determined.
Also the various types of smaller vessels that will be carried as part
of the military forces
will be determined at a later date. Some types of fighter craft are at
this point SECRET!
