were "in" every game. There is no doubt that had we been able to go with our original
roster (lost Sabatino, Roy, Stevens, etc) we could have won several more games. We lost
our final game against the Netherlands by a score of 26-29. Had we lost by 2 goals
instead of three we would have finished 12th; had we won this game we would have finished
10th. The teams were that competitive from 9th through 13th.
Clearly the living and playing conditions did not favor the USA Team. Last year’s losses
totaled 44 goals while this year’s losses totaled 37 goals. Assuming comparable
competition the team did give a better showing.
A breakdown of individual player scoring and team scoring follows. Clearly goals alone do
not show the full value or merits of any individual player.
