you create your first web site you will come to the
conclusion
that graphics are a must. One of the nicest things about

Internet is it can be used as a gigantic graphics library. You

surf the web looking for free graphics and then use them on your
site.
This is a good way to spice up your site but let's face it,
there's
almost no creativity involved. Eventually, for those of you
who
want a professional looking site customized to your own needs,
you
will have to think about creating your own images.

use a fantastic little program which is designed to make the

images for viewing on the Internet. The product is called
CorelXARA
and can be found at www.corel.ca. It's very easy to
use
and is perfect for creating your own graphics. You can use thousands
of

even use CorelXara to create most of the banners you will see on the

Custom
graphics are one way to make your site more appealing, but another
graphic
you may eventually want on your site is a scanned
image.
For this you must have a photo quality program to handle the colors
and
details of the scanned image. If you scan your own images we suggest
an
HP ScanJet 5P and a software program called Adobe Photoshop Lite
(comes
with the scanner). Upgrading to the full version of Photoshop is
pricy
but brings in many more powerful editing tools.
