THE TRUTH COMES OUT... "The biggest lie I've ever told is that I'm a good football player. I'm not, I'm pretty rubbish at it actually. Everyone assumes I'm good cos I play, but I'm not."

BUT...Mel used to play for Rickmansworth Lady FC. [aka: a soccer team] She had to quit because the other players got annoyed by kids showing up going "Look, look it's Melanie C!"

DID YOU KNOW?: Mel tried out for a part in "Cats". It came down to the last five girls when Mel got tonsilitis and couldn't make the final auditions. [Lucky for her! Only a few weeks later, she was recruited as a Spice Girl!]

MEL IN LOVE?: Melanie C and Liverpool FC star, Jason McAteer, have been seen getting rather close, Although both have denied dating, Mel and McAteer were seen at a British resort last winter. Accompanying them were Posh Spice, Victoria Adams, and her footballer fiancee David Beckham.

MEL ON OASIS: "If Oasis is bigger than god, then what does that make us? Bigger than Buddah? Cos we're a darn sight bigger than Oasis!" [and thats the clean version!]

MORE FROM GERI: "What really annoys Mel is when there is no gym in the hotel, cos she really loves training. She can be a bit too straight laced sometimes - too sensible and too tidy! She's even got all her jeans folded the same way! She needs her kip and hates being deprived of her sleep. Oh yeah, I hate how she she cracks her knuckles all the time! But she's the one that will say, 'Alright, thats enough now.', if we go a bit too mad. She's not very flirty. Not on perpose anyway, she's more subtle, but she doesn't relize how good she is at it. She likes optimistic, funny guys who look after themselves and stay in shape.

MORE FROM EMMA: "She's a pure babe, a really good friend of mine, I talk to her about alot of things and she probably knows most of my secrets. We go out for meals together and i like her loads and i think she's a complete babe! I like her hair when she wears it down and I think she's cool. She's very funny but gets a bit moody at night time cos she's a morning person and hates evenings, whereas I'm the complete opposite. She's really bouncy in the mornings and I get really annoyed with her and the same when I'm happy in the evenings"

MEL ON FAME: "I know it sounds ungratful, but sometimes fame isn't all that much fun. You're visiting all these fantasitc places, but the whole time you're moaning 'I want to go home'."

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE BEST ABOUT YOURSELF?: "I like the celtic band symbol around my arm. It's and ancient sacred symbol from when the Celts faught other tribes. It unites my physical and spiritual strengths. i also like the Girl Power tattoo on my shoulder even though it hurt alot when I had it done."

WHY REMEMBER '96?: "I'm a big Liverpool fan, and I always have been, so the most poignant image from 1996 was Liverpool losing the FA Cup Final miserably to Manchester United. Although I didn't see the match because i was working, I watched the highlights on the telly after, and I actually cried when Catona scored. Still, we are going to make up for it next season when we do the Double!"
