Studied the recorder from age three and performed on Danish radio stations in her youth. Her concert debut in Copenhagen was in 1969. She toured with her mother and brother, harpsichordist and cellist.

Ms. Petri studied at the Hannover Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik with Ferdinand Conrad from 1970 to 1976.

She performs extensivly around the world with major chamber orchestras and was first heard in the USAmerica with NYC's respected 92nd Street Y Chamber Orchestra in 1982. She plays in the Baroque to Contemporary repertoire with a number of works commissioned for her.
