"Black No More" by Christie Gibson

Darkness all around me
Not a single speck of white in this blank emptiness
Fallen into endless despair
Until the second I see it
One tiny ray of light
I let it grow; I want it to
I feed it with a smile to start
And then a little bit of a laugh
Until everything seems brighter than ever
Maybe it won’t last forever, but for now
I look again, and what was a bleak void is now filled with light

Critiques:

-I really liked the positive note - which is weird considering I'm usually one for dark poetry. Try more figurative language. It's kind of one of those crazy prose poems that can be so hard to pull off right. I feel like it's missing something - I wish I knew what; sorry. Over all pretty good.
