Outstanding Performances

     Park View, fielding it's first varsity swim team, played host to Robert E. Lee at Leesburg's Ida Lee Recreation Center. Park View won it's first event win when they won the 200 medley relay. The team of M. McCarthy, K. Lacznski, M. Stavish and H. Ward combined their talents to win the event in with a time of 2:04.15. The Lady Lancers then proceeded to win seven of the next 11 events to register their first dual victory of the season. Park View's M. Stavish win both the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Ashley Young, Lee, won the 1 meter diving event by scoring 163.40 points.
     Lee's Mike Peterson and Justin Betts each won two events. Freshman David Levy, Lee, won diving and placed third in the 200 IM. Zack Kevit won the 100 freestyle and placed second in the 200 IM. Lee Frosh Thomas Cooke won the 100 backstroke and placed third in the 100 freestyle. K. Gallo won the 200 IM, to win Park View's first men's event, and placed second in the 500 freestyle. Park View's A. Geuss won the 50 freestyle. By winning, Lee's men improved their dual meet record to 9 - 4 since 1995. Lee's men were eighth last season at the Virginia AAA Championships.
