How We Picked 'Em
     Congratulations to the 1998-99 All-Connection basketball teams.
     The players were chosen by staff writers Brian Truitt, Randal Smathers and Steven Lienert. The main criterion was overall excellence. However, the picks are weighted toward those players who stood out in games attended by Connection staff.
     Discussions with coaches were included in the process, and intangibles like sportsmanship and effort were definitely considered. And as with any all-star squad, the list of those who almost made it is as long as the list of winners.
