High School Picks
Lee (5-1) at McLean (4-2)

After last week's runaway win over Broad Run, Lee spent the week familiarizing itself with what it feels like to be tackled. Pick: Lee

Liberty District
.No. 10 Lee (5-1, 3-1) at McLean (4-2, 2-1)

This pretty much is a playoff game. As a Division 6 team, an 8-2 record might not sneak Lee into the playoffs. It did not get them in last year. The Lancers still have Lake Braddock, Langley and Fairfax to play.
McLean with Broad Run, Park View and Langley on the schedule after this week, cannot count on 7-3 to get it into the playoffs. The Highlanders have been in this position before. They won their last four games in 1996 and four of their last five in '97. They reached the playoffs each year.
Lee, after its offense went eight quarters without a touchdown, erupted for 41 points  in the first quarter of its 48 - 14 pasting of Broad Run last week. The Lancers' seven touchdowns came on runs of 566, 60, 13 and 73-yards and on an 18-yard pass, 15-yards interception return and 97-yard punt return.
In its 8 - 7 loss at Madison, McLean senior Dearl Jackson rushed for 30-yards on 17-carries, his lowest total since the 20 - 7 loss to Lee last year. McLean threw for a season-high 171 yards at Madison last week.
The Highlanders committed six turnovers last year in the loss to Lee and totaled only 7-rushing yards on 28-attempts. Senior Jeff Johnson caught eight passes and threw for the team's only score.
