THE FIRST 20 years of the 20th Century saw tremendous change to the garrison town of SYDNEY. The TOP picture shows the ROYAL BANK of CANADA building. A close look, and you'll notice the LION at the TOP CENTER. This LION was salvaged upon demolation of this fine example of architecture and material of its day. The LION is presently erected on the ESPLANADE, near the GOVERNMENT WHARF. Picture # 2...the location appears to be the corner of CHARLOTTE STREET AND WENTWORTH.The building on the left is presently where the Khattar Law Firm resided. The bottom picture shows the NEW,GENERAL OFFICE BUILDING of the New Steel Plant. Here were the executive offices,Purchasing, Engineering, etc. It was located across the street from the present General Office, with water frontage on Muggah Creek.
