I called my first BBS back in 1993. It was a small 2 line posting board called Poster's Paradise. I loved that little BBS with its games and message bases. Soon, I was calling other local boards and met some super people. Many I have the pleasure of calling good friends today. My favorite BBS was The New Traveler. The group was so friendly, we met on Saturday nights for happy hour. I made most of my lasting friendships here. I got a job from one of the ladies online that I had for 4 years until I got married. The relationships made at that BBS are still strong and lasting today even though the BBS no longer exists. Another BBS that I called for about 5 years is Mindgames. That board will be closing down the end of July..but if you want to meet some great people and chat, you can go to www.mindgames.com and get on IRC with them. I promise you, you are in for a treat...give my best to Seeker, Lovelite and the gang.
I met my husband, Bruce, online. I was calling into a local board that he was going to through the web, www.matchmaker.com. I have met many people from this place including my best friend Cathy. She is the one that introduced me to the Country Kickin' Dance Club of Tidewater VA where I line dance. I met Bruce on September 25, 1997 online. We hit it off immediately and spent hours chatting online. We met a week later in person and were married on July 18, 1998. Thank you Matchmaker!!!! :)
I will always treasure my online time and those I have crossed paths with. I know my life has been enriched because of my computer and those I have been in contact with.
ATHOMEMOMS is a group I belong to from onlist. Not only does this group of stay at home moms have some wonderful ladies on it, but we are each others support group, shoulder to lean on, fan club and more.
