GEORGETOWN LIGHTHOUSE




The Georgetown Lighthouse is at the entrance of Winyah Bay on North Island and is accessible by boat. Built ca 1795, it is one of the oldest in the southeast. It was rebuilt in 1812 and again 1867 after being damaged in the Civil War. It has an 87 foot tower. The light It is still being used today and the US Coast Guard maintains it.

A summer cruise to North Island is available. Leaving from Georgetown at 9:00am, 1:00pm and 5:00pm Monday through Saturday. For more information visit Rover Tours at the website linked below.
