ILOILO CITY PROFESSIONAL LIONS CLUB

OCTOBER 3, 1998. A general membership meeting was held at FMC (Iloilo) Ent., Marymart Mall, Valeria Street, Iloilo City. Its agenda consisted of the finalization of the activities during the Lions World Service Day Celebration held last October 8, 1998. They also discussed and finalized the plan of action during the Tree Planting, Deworming and Feeding at Abeto Elementary School, Brgy. Sooc, Villa, Iloilo City. Matters in connection with the proposed Tree Planting Activity at Leganes High School in Leganes, Iloilo was also discussed, not to mention the Hataw Sayaw, a fund-raising activity held at Sarabia Manor Hotel last November 18, 1998. The medical and dental activities for November 8, 1998 was also discussed.

OCTOBER 11, 1998. The club participated in the Alay Lakay Walk for a Cause activity together with other government agencies. There were 6 members of the club who participated and burnt their energy which is indeed good for the heart.

OCTOBER 17, 1998. The club held its board meeting. On the agenda was the treasurer's report, finalization of the program for Hataw Sayaw and the medical dental activity in Badiangan, Iloilo.

NOVEMBER 1, 1998. Finally, the Hataw Sayaw 98, a fund raising activity, ballroom dancing for a cause for the benefit of the Club's Clean and Green project.

NOVEMBER 8, 1998. As planned, the Iloilo City Professional Lions Club held their activities for the Lions World Service Day. A church mass was heard, followed by a caravan and tree planting. Two hundred mahogany seedlings were planted at Brgy. Kalahunan, Mandurriao, Iloilo City and 30 seedlings of Indian trees at Abeto Elementary Schoo, Sooc, Villa, Iloilo City.

Two hundred seventy five (275) students of Abeto Elementary School availed of free food feeding during this activity and 250 were dewormed.

Blood typing was also held together with the U.P. Ugnayan ng Pahanungod at Badiangan, Iloilo.

NOVEMBER 14, 1998. The club held its board meeting.

NOVEMBER 21-22, 1998. The club sent 10 of its representatives to the second meeting and district conference held at the Goldenfield Garden Hotel, Bacolod City.

NOVEMBER 26-28, 1998 witnessed the first aid activity during the Iloilo PRISAA 1998 held at the Iloilo Sports Complex together with the first aid Red Crossers.

NOVEMBER 29, 1998. A tree planting at Mill Hills Missionaries in Molo; Baptist Center Church, Lapaz, Iloilo City and Leganes Iloilo was held with mahogany and Indian tree seedlings being planted. They were 15 members of the club and 10 of the Iloilo Premiere Leo Club who attended.

DECEMBER 12, 1998. Board meeting with the agenda on free medical consultation, Christmas party and gift-giving.

DECEMBER 13, 1998. Gift giving at Fundidor, Molo, Iloilo City. There were 100 packages of assorted goods given to the less fortunate to let them feel the spirit of Christmas.

DECEMBER 16, 1998. The signing of MOA between Iloilo Professional Lions Club and University of the Philippines in the Visayas Ugnayan ng Pahinungod at UPV Main Campus, Iloilo City. This MOA binds these two civic minded clubs in their joint venture in rendering free services to the depressed and underserved communities in the premises of Iloilo.

DECEMBER 20, 1998. A free medical consultation, deworming and blood typing CIVAC at Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, Iloilo City.

DECEMBER 29, 1998. Gift giving at the residence of Lion Adelfa Borro, a club member at Grain Plains Subdivision, Jaro. There were 400 children who received the gifts.
