ILOILO CITY METRO LIONS CLUB

DECEMBER 18. This is a special holiday at the city and province of Iloilo as it is the Graciano Lopez Jaena Day.

Under the leadership of club president Lion Nathan Suarez, the Iloilo City Metro Lions took off from the CAP Bldg office to proceed to Brgy. Manaulan, Badiangan, Iloilo for its "Gift-giving Project," their way of sharing the Christmas spirit to indigent families and children of the day care center in the said barangay. They were warmly welcomed by its barangay officials, headed by Barangay Capt. Romeo Taberna and all the residents of Brgy. Manaulan. An exchange of warm greetings and fellowship among the community and club members was shared by everyone.

Some 40 children of the day care center enjoyed their bag of toys, chocolates, candies and biscuits individually distributed by the Iloilo City Metro Lions, while about 100 indigent families got their share of packages of rice, noodles, sardines, laundry soap and other commodities. These families were overwhelmed with joy as this was the first time they ever received gifts from civic-spirited people and shared precious moments with.

A sumptuous lunch of native food was shared by the club and the community as they eagerly and enthusiastically shared moments together. Later, Mayor Gaje and Vice Mayor Borro of Badiangan, Iloilo came in to thank the club for their civic spirit and concern to the less fortunate families. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon when the group left Brgy. Manaulan.
