River of living Nahsi
| Li Jiang River is in the northwest part of
Yunnan Province, near the joint of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet. Around the foot of snow
capped mountains, Li Jiang River flows into Yangtze RiverOn the river side, there is a
small town called Li Jiang County. Thirty thousand Nashi people are living their
autonomous area of seven thousand kilometers square. Nashi, or Naxi, is a rare nationality with their own writing characters. Although less and less people are able to use the characters, the culture and history of Nahsi have been already recorded in the native language. |
