There are several ways to move without being detected by the enemy.
1) Sniper Low Crawl
Use this method when concealment is very limited or you're approaching a hide site. Click here for a picture.
Lie flat on the ground. Turn your head to one side and keep your arms extended forward of your head, with your legs in a straight line with your heels touching the ground.
Hold your weapon by its sling and keep it parallel to you.
Push slowly and evenly with your toes while pulling with your fingers. You should go about 2-4 inches each time.
2) Medium Crawl
Use this method when concealment is limited. Click here for a picture.
Lie flat on the ground. Turn your head to one side with your arms forward of your head and your legs apart to the rear.
Hold your weapon by the forward sling swivel and lay it on top of your forearm.
Move by pulling one leg forward and pushing, while pulling with your arms. You should go about 12-16 inches each time.
3) High Crawl
Use this method when concealment is limited but high enough to raise your body off the ground. Click here for a picture.
Support your body by the elbows and knees.
Cradle your weapon in your arms with the sope between the chin and chest.
Move by alternating the knees and elbows.
4) Hand and Knee Crawl
Use this when some concealment is available. Click here for a picture.
Support the body with knees and one hand. With the other hand hold your weapon with the scope in your armpit.
Move one knee at a time and then the arm.
5) Walking
Use this method when good concealment is around and the enemy is not likely to be in the area. Click here for a picture.
Crouch with your upper body bent and knees slightly bent
Carry your weapon on line with your body by grasping the forward sling swivel. Keep the muzzle pointed down.
Move step-by-step. Plan each step before moving your foot.
