Raleigh, N.C., Caswell Co., NC Wills 1771-1927. C.R. 020.8807.6 Sam'l Stansbury's Will. Book A. MSS 55-56. Dated August 05, 1778.

I Samuel Stansbury of Caswell County in the province of North Carrolina being in a low state of helth but in perfect memory of mind do make ordain and constitute this to be my Last will and testament in manner of and form as following. That is to say after my decease my just depts being all paid that then I give to my wife Mary Stansbury all my rite title and in trust of my dwelling planatation with all the appertanences therein unto Belonging with all and Every of my household goods and firniture and all my horses cattle ---- and sheep during her Life or widowhood I . But only one Gray horse and one Black sow ...... Luke Stansbury I give to him at my Death and if my wife should again marrey then she . . . not possess any thing I one any longer. I give to my son Solomon Stansbury a certain tract of land joining joining a Line Caled Lecks Line I also give to my son Luke Stansbury another tract of land laying the other said tract as it was laid of to them to them and there heirs for Ever. I also give to my son Benjamin Stansbury Part of my land Caled by the Name of Bordes Cabbin to him and his heirs for ever. I also give to my son Samuel Stansbury a part of my land lying towards James Richards to him and his heirs for Ever . I also give to my son Aquila Stansbury at. my wifes Death or marredge my Dewelling plantation with all the appertaines there unto to him and his heirs for ever my said six hundred and forty acres of land is to be Equily Devided between my five Boys Solomon Luke Samuel Benjamin and Aquila and at my wifes Death or marrage I give to my three Daughters Elizabeth Rachel and Cesander Stansbury there Equil Share of all my movable afects Item I constitute and appoint my said wife and my son Soloman Stansbury of the County and province aforesaid my lawful Executors of this my Last will and testament I also confirm this and no other to be my Last will and testament in Wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th Day of August 1779. Sined Sealed published and prounounced and by the said Samuel Stansbury as his last will and testament in presence of us the subscribers.
