BGC is a classic, that's all there is to it. The style is classic 80's. The music is my favorite in all of anime. The characters are well developed and deep. All around this is a must see series for any fan of anime. The story is set far into the future, and like in Armitage III, the future is very dark.
The story centers around a group of four vigilante women. Sylia Stingray is a very rich lady who developed the "hardsuits", or at least paid someone to do it. I'm not sure, I've not seen the whole series yet. Priss is a beautiful singer who is quiet and rather hot-headed at times. Out of the four she is the best fighter. Linna, I'm not sure what she does when she's not fighting rouge boomers in the original series. I know it the re-make she works for some big company. Nene works for the AD Police. She is also an expert on computers and hacking. These four women make up the "Knight Sabers". They take the law into their own hands when the AD Police are either too slow or won't do it. Leon is a man who is a cop and has a little crush on Priss. Out of all the Knight Sabers Priss is my favorite because she has a really nice voice and I like her no-nonsense attitude.
A lot of the show has to do with robots called "boomers". They were created to do the jobs people don't want to do. But as in Patlabor these mech can be misused. Some develop their own boomers. The first 4 or 5 episodes deal with just that. Brian Meison, a higher up guy in the Genom Corporation, is producing his own boomers that look just like real people. He's taking out anyone who worked on the project, including the fiance of one of Linna's friends. The third episode is the climactic battle against Meison at the summit of the Genom building. I only have episodes 2-5, so I'm not well versed in this anime, but from what I've seen and heard, this is not a series to be missed.
