What it's about...

Okay here is my review on Ranma 1/2. I'm sure all you anime buff out there already know the story about how Ranma got his curse and all. But for those of you who don't. Ranma and his dad went training at the cursed training grounds of Jusenkyo in China. They both fell into springs and now when splashed with cold water Ranma turns into a red haired girl version of himself. And his dad turns into a panda. It turns out that Ranma was to be married to one of his dad's friends daughters. He ends up engaged to Akane.
Season 1
In the beginning of season one we are introduced to Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma. They start out in their cursed form, and after some hassle that ended in a painful lump on the head for Ranma, we find out all about how the curse came to be. He ends up engaged to Akane Tendo and they live with them now because Genma is afraid to go home(we find out why much later on in the story). Some events that take place during this season is the Martail Arts Rythmic Gymnastic Trounament, and (my very favorite) the introduction of *trumpet fanfare* Ryoga Hibiki!! Okay, for those of you who were sent here from the Ryoga shrine for an explanation here it is. It ties into the second (or first) season of the show, that's why. Okay, we all know about Ryogas curse of turning into a little black pig, right? Well, you do now. Anyway, Akane finds this little "pig" and adopts it. She names it P-chan(lit-"pig cute"). Now how many of you have a cat, dog, fish...whatever...that you take to bed with you at night? Akane takes her little pet pig to bed with her. Of course this is not really a pig but Ryoga. He ends up falling in love with Akane. He says that no matter that he is ugly she still finds it in her heart to love him. But Akane can never find out that Ryoga is P-chan or she would be really mad that she took him to her bed and not love him anymore.

Ranma inevidably finds out about the curse. But as you know, honor in the art and all, he don't tell Akane. However he does pick on him about it a lot. Calling him P-chan, Charlotte and such. The Martail Arts Figure Skating Championship and the Gymnastics thing were pretty good for that.
