Sometimes comic companies just won't do what you want them to do. In my case, I want certain comics collected into a TPB. But they just don't do it. Here are some ideas of mine, stories that deserve the delux treatment.

Alan Moore on Swamp Thing:

This would not be like the other Swamp Thing TPB's, which only collect a few issues. These would be two thick black and white trade paper backs, much like the Marvel comics Essentials line. All 46 issues would be reprinted, and the cost would be low, 15.00 each, 23 issues in each book. Alan Moore is hot now, so this could happen, cross your fingers.

More Essential Books from Marvel

Marvels essentials line is great, I've been picking them up as often as possible. In addition to extending the printings of the current volumes, X-men vol. 4, actually the entire Claremont Run, Wolverine vol. 4, Fantastic Four vol. 3 so we can get the Galactus issues and more Essential Spider Mans, Avengers, and Hulks.

But as good as those are, the line could be better. First of, lets start with Daredevil. I would like the Stan Lee run from the start, or the Frank Miller run.

Next, how about Essential Nick Fury. I'm talking the 18 issue series that ran from 1968-1971. Next Essential Hulk, the Peter David Years. David had like a 13 year run and there is what, 2 TPB of his work, Ground Zero and Ghost of the Past. We need to start collecting his stuff up. I would like to see Captain America comics collected, the ones from the Golden Age where Cap was beating up Nazi's and Commies. Finally Essential Thor, the Ragnarok story that ran from issues 337-355. And not to sound greedy, well I am, but I would also like to see John Byrne's run on Fantastic 4 collected in this manner.

Hellblazer, The Ennis Years

Hellblazer was at its best when Garth Ennis was on the book. There are already a few TPB's like Dangerous Habits, but I think they could print 3 more and collect his entire run on the book. First off issues 47-51. This would follow up the Dangerous Habits story, collect a few smaller stories, then get into the vampire story. Next would be 52-61, this would cover the under appreciated Royal Blood story and the Demon Angle story. 62-77 have all been collected, no problems there. But what has not been collected is the final Ennis Story, Rake at the Gates of Hell, which ran from 78-83. This closed out Ennis and Steve Dillon's run on the book. So get on it DC, I want a full run of Ennis's stuff.

Green Arrow, The Grell Years.

Mike Grell had a great run on Green Arrow, until the Mature Readers lable was removed and his stories were really simplified. At its best, Green Arrow was tough, gritty, exciting, and even humorous. Green Arrow was given a real personality. Green Arrow deserves to be collected in an essentials type format, 20 issues in black and white plus an annual.

Ill add more as I think of stuff, and if you have any ideas, send me an e-mail at aka_golgo13@hotmail.com

thanks for reading all this.
