MUTANT POWERS: Telepathy and telekinesis

WHAT HER POWERS ARE/DO: Ability to read and transmit thought, create psychic illusions, and move/control objects lacking physical means.

PERSONALITY: Before coming in contact with the Phoenix Force, jaded and hateful and almost to the point of not caring anymore. Phoenix has since opened her up to various emotions and senstions. She will seek after these things with the same passion the original Dark Phoenix once did, but in an unevil manner. Thus taking the name, DARK PHOENIX.

Ever since Candra can remember, she's been on the streets of LA. When she was nine, her powers developed. She had some vicious side affects. She said a Nestie (LA Mutant Nest residence; similar to Morlocks, but not all are deformed) found her in an alley in intense pain and took her to the underground nest. A telepath/telekinetic called Tranquil taught her how to control and use her powers, along with other forms of education.

Over a year ago, the government had Sentinels destroy the nest. She had been topside when it happened, and was spared. After that, she grew numb and didn't care anymore.

She started running again, and almost successfully made it to Mexico. Failing in that attempt, she thought she'd try to make it up to Canada. Wandering thru California, she met up with a group of mutants on the run as well. She bonded with them immediately.

They trekked on up north but were caught by the Friends of Humanity in Portland, Washington. They were shipped to the FoH headquarters in Washington DC. For several weeks they were experimented on for "cures" to the mutant gene and simpler and cleaner ways of destroying mutants without wiping out half the country. Luckily, none of these experiments worked.

One night, the group felt their strongest and decided to break out, along with many other test subjects. They had succeeded, with the exception of one, whose clothing became entangled in the wired fence. Candra used her tk to free her. Then they started running as fast as they could with the aid of their unevolved powers. It seemed they weren't going to make it. Then Candra streched her abilities to lift the five of them up off the ground and managed to levitate them, to "fly", nearly 100 miles. Because of the strain to strecth her powers, Candra was inevitably going to die in mere moments.

Sensing Candra taking her last breath, the Phoenix Force split into two beings again. The weaker half staying with Jean Grey, the stronger going to aid of Candra. Jean Grey slipped into a mild coma, but her Phoenix regained it's strength and Jean was back to normal.

DRAWBACKS: Candra cannot survive without the Phoenix Force. If it is to leave her body, Candra will succumb to the anurism that resulted of the strenuation she suffered from the escape.
