The News Reel: Edition Six: February 24, 2003

Hey there Everyone! Your Guild Matriarch, Quinn Logan here.

It's been awhile since the News Reel was updated, and things still aren't final as to who, exactly, is going to be doing it from now on, as Raz has other obligations at this time, but for now, I'm here with my own little rendition to tide you over. And who knows, I might be doing it from now on myself, but that's a topic for another place and time.

There's not much here at the moment, but that will hopefully soon change. At any rate, let's get going here shall we?

Daredevil Tops Box Office Again!

Daredevil's reign at the box office continued this weekend. The movie, starring Ben Affleck, took in an estimated $18.9 million, bringing it's 10-day total to $70.3 million.

The movie, which edged out the debuting "Old School", became the second consecutive Marvel movie to top the box office in it's two opening weekends. The last one to do that was last year's Spider-man.

TV Viewers get a Glimpse of X2!

When Fox aired the world-broadcast premiere of X-Men this past Saturday, February 22, it gave viewers a sneak peak of the sequel.

The clip lasted less than a minute and showed brief scenes of several members of the X-Men, including Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey and Iceman.

It was a clip meant to give viewers a little more of a tease regarding what's in store in the movie; although at least one scene in the clip is also shown in the latest trailer for the movie.

X2 is set to hit theaters in early May. Don't miss it!

Spider-man Animated Update!

A British producer/DJ is working on the music for the new Spider-man animated series. His name is John Digweed, and runs Bedrock Records in Britain and is renowned in dance music. Also working on the music for the new show is William Anderson, who also works on X-Men Evolution.

The Spider-man animated show will probably begin airing in April on MTV.
