On May 10th I will celebrate my 18th year
of surviving BREAST CANCER.
I am, sadly, the only
one of my friends who has made it this far! I say,
sadly, because if only the research had been further
advanced, those wonderful friends would
still be here enjoying their husbands, their children,
their grandchildren and yes, like me, even their
great-grandchildren.
AS THE ROSE ABOVE COMES INTO BLOOM AND INTO IT'S FULL BEAUTY I HOPE THAT IT WILL MAKE YOU REALIZE THAT SO MANY WOMEN, YOUNG AND OLD, ARE STILL LOSING THEIR LIVES TO BREAST CANCER. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BLOSSOM INTO THE WONDERFUL WOMEN THEY COULD HAVE BEEN. THEY ARE LEAVING BEHIND DEVASTATED FAMILIES BUT THE HEART BREAK AND THE TERROR IS THAT THEY ARE ALSO LEAVING THEIR DAUGHTERS WITH THE BLACK CLOUD OF FEAR THAT THEY, TOO, MAY HAVE THE BREAST CANCER GENE!
The US POSTAL SERVICE has released a "FUND THE CURE"
stamp to help fund BREAST CANCER RESEARCH.
The stamp
was designed by ETHEL KESSLER OF BETHESDA,
MARYLAND.
It is important that we take a stand
against this disease that kills and maims so many of our
Mothers, sisters and friends.
Instead of paying the normal cost 37 cents for a stamp, this one costs 40 cents a stamp.
A normal book costs $6.60 - this one
costs $8.00!
It only takes a few minutes to stand
in line at your local POST OFFICE and your few minutes
of time and a few extra pennies CAN HELP TO SAVE
LIVES!
If all the stamps are sold, it will raise an additional $16,000,000 for this VITAL RESEARCH!
OUR LOCAL POST OFFICE HAS SOLD OUT TWICE SO FAR. AS QUICK AS THE STAMPS COME IN - THEY ARE SOLD! MY SINCEREST THANKS TO MY HOME TOWN PEOPLE!
I should remind you that just as important the money is - your support is as needed.
What a statement you all would make if the
stamp outsold the lottery this week!

I urge you to do TWO things TODAY:
1. Go out and
purchase "FUND THE CURE" stamps.
2. E-mail my site to
all of your friends so that they will do the same.
Many of us know women and their families whose lives
are turned up-side-down by breast cancer. And, if you
are unaware, breast cancer also strikes some men!
It
takes so little of your time, money and effort to so
this......so please, I beg of you, for the sake of
women everywhere, help to make this drive a success.

Rose's Story

I have recently found this site which covers a ton of information which covers a lot of ground and provides a lot of new updates regarding the various cancers.
Take a moment to read won't you? It could save your life or the life of a loved one.
October is usually Breast Cancer Month but I am so sincere in my quest to reach people to raise money for the cancer research and to get women to understand the importance of yearly mammograms .
I do believe that a cure can be found in my lifetime.
Won't you please help me to tell your friends to be sure to get their mammograms each year and to please buy the stamps or make donations to the Breast Cancer Society.
I am still here because they found my cancer early. I am enjoying my beloved husband, Bobby and looking forward to Tracy and Matt's baby in March 2003.
Well little Cameron Robert entered our lives on January 24, 2003...and what a true blessing he is to us all!

Please check out this next site....this is a petition to stop the drive through mastectomies...sending women home within 24 hours or less is atrocious!
