"What's Around The Corner"

The boys have so many future plans they almost feel like they each need a twin to get all their work done! It's incredible - the Backstreet Boys are doing lots of open air dates while the weather is still good, including a recent one at Universal Studios Florida that started out with thousands of fans (who camped out the night before) trying to break down the gates in the morning. Good thing that Universal Studios has a world class security system!

Just prior to getting to Universal Studios - two days before, in fact - the boys did a giant 300-reporter and photographer press conference to announce the release of their first US album at the All Star Café in Times Square. The crowd was also treated to different editors and radio personalities from around the world talking about what the Backstreet Boys means to their country or primary audience.

The boys showed their video for "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," their new single here, to the crowd, along with several that had already been released overseas. The press conference ended with the boys performing three songs at the Virgin Records megastore just next door.

At press time, the boys are trying to sneak a couple days off in Orlando, but have such a heavy duty schedule now that they are trying to take over their homeland, that is looks like they don't get another day off until Thanksgiving!

September is being spent almost entirely in Europe, with the first two weeks concentrating on touring Germany and Austria. Sigh - whatta life!

Fans who can catch them on tour in the next couple of months will discover a super bonus - Nick's nine-year-old little brother Aaron Carter is on tour with the group performing his debut hit, "Crush On You." Look really closely at the side of the stage - you can often spot Aaron's twin sister Angel who is actually one minute older!

Fans are now asking, when does the first full-fledged, continuos US tour happen (they have done only "spot dates" up until now)? Well, the boys are kinda booked up in Europe for a while, but you can expect them to be covering all Four Corners of the US starting in October and going through December….maybe longer, if there is a third or fourth hit in the US off their debut LP.

They were so happy when "Quit Playin Games" hit the Top Three in mid-August that they vowed to do their best to get the American fans under their skin. Judging from the turnout from the boys' "US debut" press conference, it looks like from now on, Backstreet mania rules!

At press time rumor has it, the boys will be recording a single with Gary Barlow of Take That fame - a special gift for European fans, but sure to win the hearts of American fans as well. Gary is busy launching his first US solo album.

Says Nick Carter; "All of this is just icing on the cake. I am jus happy to be able to do what I love everyday. I would do this for free - there's nothing more fun!"

'Nuff said?
