" OK, I made this new friend at school, and we got pretty close(she is now my best friend). Except, then, i did not KNOW WHO THE BSB WERE!!!So, I go over to her house to spend the night, and I walk into her room, and i see this HUGE poster of Nick Carter.Well, after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I said,"My Lord, who the hell is that fine ass guy?". Four hours later, I have seen every BSB, heard a TON of songs, and learned ALOT of info about the BSB. I went home singing, Quit playing games with my heart." -SierraDawn Kirkpatrick
"I first became a BSB fan when I was over at a friend's house. One day we were just hanging out and listening to music when my friend put on the Backstreet Boy's tape(1st album). What really got me into them was their song "Get Down"and"I'll never break your heart". I still love this songs to this very day. And ever since I've been hooked!!!!" -Elizabeth Matos
"One day last year, my sister and her friends were at the mall. Me and my mom went to pick them up, I asked my sister what she bought. She handed me a cd...it was a single by a group I never heard of. It was a weird looking single, the case was really, really thin unlike most cd's. I looked at it, it said "Backstreet Boys". I was like, "ok..." and then I saw their faces. Man, why don't they put GOOD pictures on the singles and cd's where people would like them at first glance at them?? I was like, "EW! GROSS!" My sister was like, "yeah, I know. But their song's really good." My mom put the single into the discplayer and I heard "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" for the very first time. It was really good. But I said I didn't like it, but I did. I made everyone think I didn't like them. But on the Weekly Top 40's Countdown, I heard the DJ say something about them and I got all excited. And then I started seeing all these magazines and all that with the Backstreet Boys in them, ! I was like, "OHMIGOSH! They're cute!" *LOL* Well, that's when I started being a fan...." -Vonnie
"I heard, 'We've Got It Goin' On' on the radio and I was like, "Wow, I like this," so I hunted around in magazines and found a picture that was introducing the group to America. I wanted the cd immediately. I asked my grandparents to find it for me for my birthday which was only a week away by then. They couldn't find it so they just got me the single. I listened to it over and over again until 1997, when my mom went to London. There she got me their first cd (as a burthday present!). Shortly after that, the American release came out. Needless to say, I'm totally devoted to those Boys!" - Sarah Melendy
"It's a pretty short story. I was listening to the radio, like I usually do, and this song came on "We've Got It Goin' On". I'd heard it before, but I never really listened to it. That day was different though, I sat there and listened to it and when it was over I thought, "WHOA! They're REALLY GOOD!!". I was totally hooked after that!! I can honestly say that I LOVED them before I saw them, and the reason I even got the CD or started liking them was for their voices NOT their looks. I got the CD last spring and as soon as it was done playing through the first time I was in awe." -Liz
"My sister loved the Backstreet Boys so I bought her the live in concert video.I was bored so I watched it with her.I never listened to any BSB song really until now.I fell in love with how they interacted with the fans and each other.I seemed like real people to me.I don't know why but when Kevin sung 10,000 Promises I fell in love with the Backstreet Boys.Kevin just seemed endearing to me.He sung great and looked beautiful. His eyes were so green this night.I know Brian has the greatest BSB voice but I didn't Fall for the Backstreet Boys until I heard Kevin's sing(Kevin sounds almost like Brian But with a deeper voice).KTPAL'98" -Becky Lee Rogers
"I had always liked their songs and videos when I heard and saw them but I didn't become the really big fan that I am now until recently in July. I saw them on the view and my sister taped the show later that night when it was repeated late at night. The next day I watched them do their favorite video countdown and thought they were cool. I watched the tape of them on the view and i just got hooked. From then on I became almost obsessed repeatedly watching the tape of them and I started watching for them to be on other shows so I could tape those too. also i started going to their websites and learning about them. and I bought their cd the weekend after I watched the view. I have loved them , their music , their personalities, their looks , and their moves ever since." -Jennifer Lexington
"uuummmmmm i dont know i just listened to their first song and look at thier pic and i fell in love" -Jem
"Well about 2 years ago I was flipping through a bop mag and suddenly stopped on a page of a really cute boy group. It wasn't the group itself that startled me it was how familiar the guy with light brown hair looked. It suddenly came to me and I screamed! It was Brian Littrell-the boy who always sang at my old church. (I didn't really know him personaly) I was totally shocked and excited for him! I soon ordered their first two videos(this was before they came to the U.S.) to check them out. I fell in love with their music and have been a fan ever since." -Bethany H.
"Okay well my friends uncle was getting tickets to the concerts (I really wasn't to crazy about the group) And then I saw the video for as long as you love me and I was like OH MY GOD! THEY ARE SO HOTT AND CUTE! And I also loved the song. So then I just bought the CD for just that song. And Then i just left it on one day and I listened to like the whole CD. and I Loved like Every Song! So from then on I began obsessing over then and I bought other BsB CDs then I started buying Bop and Teen Beat and stuff and I have hundredes of posters, I have been goin to BsB concerts a lot and I even got Aaron Carters autograph. I found out about him by Nick. THATS HOW." -Victoria Carter
"Well, I have to be honest, I didn't like them at first, in fact i think I hated them. I had only heard one song, and I didn't know what they looked like either. Then my mom came home with their cd. i figured, hey, why not? so i tried it. I loved it from the first second, even the song i hated two hours before! I put in the computer and it was instant love, i saw Nick and heard his voice..ohhh.. i wanted to die!! I felt the same way about every one of them! Then that night, i dedicated myself to learning all the lyrics. I stayed up until about 4 o'clock, on a school night, just learning the lyrics, i had them down pat! I've been obsessed ever since. Oh yeah, their concert was unbelievable!!" -Jen Recker
" I was listening to the radio on the way to school and I heard thier song. When I found out who they were it was like cool. In a few weeks I had memorized the words to "Quit Playin Games" and As Long As u Love Me". When I went over to my friend nicole's house 1 day and she had just gotten a BB magazine and she let me have a picture of Nick thats how I totaly fell in love with the BSB." -Sasha K. Moss
"well my friend lived in orlando & he told me "oh there's this group of guys that came to my school to sing & one of them looked like your type"(he was talking about a.j. so i was like well if they get famous i'll care so one day i bought a magazine b-cuz i use to be a very big jtt & devon fan so i saw a picture of them & it came with a pin-up so i put it on my wall. a couple of months past & my friend came to visit miami & when he told me those where the same guys that went to school a year ago i freaked so he asked me whose your fav & i said a.j he's like "i knew you would like him", so to this day i like a.j.&the rest of the guys,so the rest is history!!!!!!!!"
-adriana j. fonte mclean" Well, I was recovering from a bus accident. My subtitute bus driver hit a lamppost and I had to go to the hospital. The only damage was a prmenite dent in my skull. The next day, all of my classmates kept asking me questions which made me want to crawl into a hole and die. When I got home i turned on the Radio to 99.5. There was this song on that lifted all this weight off my chest. I didn't know the song title or who sang it and I didn't care. I kept hearing it on the radio and it really helped me through this time. Then one day, it was gone. The song wasn't on the radio anymore. But the wrost part was, I didn't the song title or who sang it.( now I do know, It was we've got it goin on) Then two years later, I heard "Quit Playin Games". I didn't want to make the same mistake twice with the same group so I heard it was the Backstreet Boys and my friend Krissy got me into them. Now you're proboly asking youself "How did you find out your first love was `We've Got It Goin On'?" Well, I was watching TGIF(Thank Goodness Its Friday) and the Backstreet Boys were hosting. So I deccided to watch it. Howie had just finished with the quiz when I heard the beat to the song. I couldn't belive my ears. I bought the C.D. and the rest was history:)" -Kayla "Carter" Baker
"okay, i'll try and remember..... well i remember i'd heard their songs on the radio a lot and I knew who sang it. then my girlscout troup was driving to a campout and on our way my frien;s mom gave us juiceboxes, the BSB's picture was on the back of it. I remember my friend and I were trying to figure out their names. we only knew Brian and Nick. The others did not look to good in that picture and i don't think i liked A.J., Howie or Kevin very much then. BUT I DON'T HAVE A FAVORITE NOW!!!!!!!!! i remember telling my friend " Brian's mine!" and she was like "fine as long as i get Nick." After that i wanted their CD for my b-day and from then on i was obsessed with them. There you have it, exactly how I became a BSB fan. Boy am I really glad I looked at the back of that juicebox. : )" -CASE L.
"As you can see, I haven't been a BSB fan for a super long time. Anyways, I love MTV. I watch it all the time. I occasionally saw a BSB video on there for "Quit playing games" or "As long as you love me" but I never really got into them. I thought they could sing very well and they were cute in all but I just didn't hear their music enough to really start to like it. (note: I'm from the US and T.V. and radio stations didn't play their videos or songs much) Then it happened. I was watching MTV's Spring Break Grind. Brandy came out and introduced a group of guys but I didn't catch their name. So the came out on stage and began to sing this totally phat song. It just caught my intrest. I instantly feel in love with the song. It had awsome dance moves. After the song was over I turned off the T.V. because I had to go eat but I kept humming the tune in my head. I really wanted to find the name of the group so I went to MTV's weg site and looked on the daily schedual to find out when that episode would be on agian. I discovered the next day it would be on. So the next day I watched The Grind but this time I payed attention to the name of the band. To my suprise it was the Backstreet Boys. I then went on the internet and visited some BSB sites. I quickly found the name of the song (note: it was "Everybody" in case you didn't know). In fact I listened to all of their songs off of their Canadian albums and the U.S. album. I just fell in love with thier music. And to this day, I am still a BSB fan. I even went to one of their concerts this summer. I kicked ass. ( I bet their glad that they released "Everybody" as a single in the states. It's the main song that gave them recognition here)" -Krysten M.
"Well, i went to india to spend time with my grandmother taking care of her ... but she seemed so active i felt that she was taking more care of me ... ne wayz .. it was really hot there ( this was last summer by the way) so i would play with my little cousin and then watch tv... i don't have mtv at home cuz my mom says i would watch tv all day if we did but my grandmother had the asia version of mtv and this other asia music channel ... so i would watch that ... i was kinda bummed cuz i missed my frineds back home and never met anyone close to my age their ... they were either like three years old or like forty and older ... so i sat in front of the tv and there comes on ALAYLM whoa!!! i was mesmermized from that moment on ... the song was awesome ... the guys were hot ... what can i say ... they were even Artist of the Month while i was there ... and how i regretted not knowing of them before cuz i spent a week in europe before staying with my grandmother ... i figured they were american cuz they didn't have any accents ... it was so cool .. i even say Everybody while i was there .. then i came home to people were like Backstreet Boys .. what kind of name is that? ... well they are big here in the US now and i'm proud of them." -Tanaya
"Even though I've liked them since August 91 , I didn't really know how much I liked them til this past August when I saw them live, so here's my story.... It's pretty well kinda funny how I first got into Backstreet Boys. My younger brother of three years introduced me to them by radio , he heard , Quit Playin' Games , he liked it , and I listened to it , I thought it was a good song. Then my brother bought the single, and I'd get up every morning for school and he'd be playing it on repeat . After about 2 months of that , I couldn't stand that song, and I didn't want to hear anything about the Backstreet Boys." -Kirsten Coachman
"well i just got out of school and i was watching mtv and i saw there music vidoe as long as you love me and i thought the group was good and i didnt know it was them and then i liked them and i thought they were all cute and i thought howies name was aj and aj's name was howie and i said i think aj is so cute not knowing it was howie and thats how i became the bsb's wanna-be biggest fan" -Shannon Brady
"Well at first i didnt like them, but then when that vid came out i decided they were all HOT and the song had a slammin beat" -Rachel
"Here's my little story of how I became a backstreet boys fan ......it was back in september of 1995.I was in the car, coming back from I dunno where and there was a song on the radio and I asked my dad to put up the volume...and me and him, we were like" damn, this song is real good!" and so that day..before I really knew, I became a BSB fan...listening to "we've got it goin' on" on the radio in the car. Since that day, I started collecting everything on the guys and basically following them everywhere in my area." -Jessica Plourde aka Mrs. Carter
"Well, I really REALLY started liking them around the 2nd of January when I was at my bestest bud's house! She was TOTALLY into them, but I hadn't seen her in a while, so she didn't really tell me a lot about them. We went to see her on the 2nd of January and by the end of the weekend I was TOTALLY into them! I got home and sat down to watch the I&I on Much Music, and I cried! *s* Seriously! Then, I was SO into them!!! That was like...the 4th or 5th I think...and NOW?! WHOA! I just recently moved some furniture outta my room to fit more posters! I have almost 3 scrapbooks filled up, my nickname is Bonegirl (I ADORE AJ!!), I paid a totally OUT OF THIS WORLD price for 17th row tickets at their concert, I am in debt almost $100 'cuz I borrowed money from my parents to buy BSB stuff, I have LOTS of CDS and am collecting their singles!! >>deep breath<< There's more...but I'm not gonna go on..." -Heather
"I heard a song on the radio called " We've got it goin on" and I was like into it and everything, but i didnt know who it was so i called the radio station (my friends bf was the DJ) and I asked him and he told me and sooo I did some research and I figured out who they were and I loved their music and when i realized how incredibly HOT they were i fell in LOVE with them!! And thats my whole story! :o)" -Jillian
"First I saw QPG and I thought it was cool and my sister got the single and we totally loved it and then my friend that lives next door to me, got the whole cd and we were like Oh my God they're sooooo good!!! But at the time we were OBSESSED with Hanson so BSB were a distant 2nd to say the least. But then we like saw them on talk shows and stuff and they were soooooo nice and funny and sooo good at dancing and we were like SCREW HANSON! because BSB are musch sweeter and much cuter and much more talented!!! Now BSB is our only #1 band!!! By the way....Kevin and Brian rule!" -Kristen Roberts
"I became a BSB fan when I first heard them on the radio. It was unbelieveable. Their voices combined together is so beautiful. Then, I decided to get their CD. They looked so fine. I read about them on the internet and found out that I have a lot in common with Nick. We are would be great soulmates if he knew who I was. Anyways, Nick, if your reading this, my name on Yahoo is Fracksqt28 or Chaoticluv. K! KTBSPA!" -Allie Lin
"When we first saw their ad (in 1995/6) in a magazine of their new album we (my sister and I) sort of laughed them off and compared them to NKOTB. In 1997 I kept on hearing their QPG(WMH) song and seeing their unbelieveably dumb video I got curious. This past summer their videos Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and I'll Never Break Your Heart being requested practically every minute my sister and i started to look them up on the web. After spending about three hours finding and absorbing info about them we realized that these guys had some serious talent. The next two weeks of our time was spend collecting info on the BSB. We even bought concert tickets within a week of becoming full fledged backstreet fans. It being early Sept. we now have their All Access video, Enhanced American CD, several TV appreances on tape, almost 200 pics, a lot of sound clips, magazines with them on the cover, and we just came back for their concert a couple days ago. I have also been working on my own website dedicated to the HOTTEST guys ever. Visit it here: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Arena/4794/ha.html" -Michelle
"Well, i became a fan when i first saw Quit playin' Games and when i saw the vid i was like "o my god who are these FINE guys???!! It was the Backstreet Boys!!! The blond mmmm, then there was the latin lover and his good-looking body!!And from then on i became a fan and you know the rest is History!!" -Michelle Gallagher
"Well I can't remember the exact time I became a fan, but I'll tell you about how my obsession has grown. I'm very surprised because I've never been obsesed with a celebrity before (well, except for Kirk Cameron when I was like, 8). I started out just liking the BSB's songs, then started taping each show they've been interviewed on, then putting up a shrine of posters all over my room (hurting, I know). I went to their concert. A.J. was really horny. Anyways after the concert, they went to a pub which is right down the street from my house. Me and my sister stayed until around one o'clock in the morning. We followed the limo and met up with it on a bridge. I pulled up along the limo's left side and me and my sister were making all these motions for them to roll down their windows, begging for one picture. Turns out there was noone in the limo. It must have been a distracter but if any of the BSB's are reading this and you were in the limo, damn you! We are 18 and 19! year old girls! What do you think we had a rifle in the backseat? Anyways, I'm currently madly in love with Brian and being constantly teased by my friends about this obsession (not only to Brian, but their music too.) NEwayz, gotta go watch their Live In Concert Video- a daily ritual." -Anna
"One day, early in August 1992, as I was skimming through the latest issue of Teen Best, I came across a picture. It was of five talented young men, striving into the music business, and they called themselves the Backstreet Boys. As I read along, I came across their names - youngest Nick Carter, age 13, AJ Mclean, age 16, Brian Littrell, aged 19, Howie Dorough, aged 20, and Kevin Richardson, aged 21. We were informed to await the arrival of their very first album, do out sometime soon (4 years later). So, I waited, and after their first video "Get Down (You're The One For Me") debuted on September 20, 1996 (my birthday) their album came shortly after. And one after the other, new videos by the new sensation Backstreet Boys, were popping up every couple months or so. And then the long-awaited debut of their album "Backstreet's Back" in the US, the Backstreet Boys had achieved national success! And I was still a BIG fan! After being to one concert, and having collected over 100+ articles, I'd say that that was when I first came a fan of the Backstreet Boys, and I'LL NEVER STOP!!!" -Peace
"I was at an amusement park and I saw a dude who looked like Brian Littrell It didn't hit me at first til I was in line 4 a water ride that he looked like one of the dudes from BSB. As soon as I thought of it and told my friend He turned around and told the people behind him he was Brian from the Backstreet Boys. I laughed and didn't think anything of it.But then I found out later that day that the BSB was in concert that night in my town. Right when I got home I looked in one of my magazines that I got 4 the spice girls(I don't like them much now)and looked at a bunch of pics of them. I now am a really big fan. I really like Nick. He's my fave. Hard 2 believe from a girl who was pressed over Brian 4 a week." -Amanda King
"My Friend Allison went out and bought a copy of Backstreets Back for her little sister and she happen to have it in her car one day when we were driving up to a weekend camp. She put it in and I was singing "Everybody" all weekend long. Next thing I know "Backstreets Back" is on the top of me X-mas C.D. list." -Becky Kokai
"It kinda started gradually. I heard the songs As Long As You Love Me and Quit Playing Games on the radio and I loved them both, but I had no idea they were by the same group. Then I saw the BSB host TGIF, and sing ALAYLM. I was like, "So that's who sings it!" I went shopping one day at JCPenney and got a free Caboodles box that just happened to have their demo tape in it. I remember listening to it for days... Anyway, my mom won a gift certificate at CDNow and said I could use it. I was so excited that I was gonna get their CD! It finally came in the mail and I have been a devoted fan ever since." -Karen Monken
"It all just happened so fast. My friend is a big fan, and see was showing me these pictures of them and that instant I fell in love with them, not just because they're absolutely gorgeous, but because they have such a fabulous singing talent." -Lisa Tod
"Well, To tell you the truth, I just got they're cd then. I didn't become an actual fan, backstreet lover, ect..until like June of '98. Thats when I noticed how cute they all were. Then I started visiting Backstreet Boy webpages. I was previously obsessed with Prince William. Then I liked AJ McLean. My aunt thought I was on a rebellion kick. I told her she was crazy. But now I have grown out of AJ. I am focusing on Kevin. Not that AJ is not cute or anything, I just learned more about Kevin and decided I liked him better. Ok. Thats it." -Darci Drum
"Well I was watching Much Music one night and all of a sudden We've got it goin' on came on, I was't really watching until I saw Kevin and fell in love. My friend already liked them so I called her up and we started watching video's together! They have been my fave band since then and I will always love them. I liked them even more after I met them, in 1996 and I've met them a few more times after that. They are so awesome and so nice. I love em! Check out my site dedicated to these awesome guys at http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Shores/3040." -Nancy Corpeleyn
"Hi! Well I remember it was a few days before Christmas 97', and I was in my dad's truck listening to the radio when "As Long As You Love Me" came on... I must say, my life has never been the same since then. N~E~WAYS as I was saying, ALAYLM came on, this was before I EVER saw a pic of the BsB, and I fell in love with the music and then when I finally saw a pic... I was downright LOST. I have been OBSESSED ever since!!! So all those STUPID people who say that we only like them for their looks, ARE WRONG!!!! KTBSPA 4ever!!!!" -Shannan Fisher
"I was watching much music and the song quit Playing Games with My heart com on and i thought the were cute and then i started like them ever sence." -S.A.B
"How i became a BSB Fan, well my mom, my best friend Molly and I, were on a road trip and "everybody" came on the radio and I'm like I LOVE this song! And Molly goes "dont you hate the BSB?" im like yeah why? "this is them" I was stunned, im like NO Way!! So i got the CD and my picture collection has now reached 2,000, and i have $112 so far for Brians endowment fund!!" -Corrinne Sara Levanovich
"As most other girls, I became fan through my bestfriend (then), she was what you call"2soon-to-be" fan, and one day after summer hols I walked into her room and saw poster! I was like "Backstreet... Boys?" "Who the hell are they?" And my pal was like: The ones who play "Get Down"... "Get Down? Gosh, it's not good! But they're quite good looking!" When I walked home after that day.... I searched all the mags through and find 3 articles of them, hanged all my 2 posters on the wall! And here I am now! With more than 300 posters, all the possibly songs (soon), two concert-experience & many friends! And even when my first reaction was negative.... I don't think myself as any less fan than you are! Nothing can stop me now! Thank you again, this is great thing!!! I get all the junk of my back again!!! *BIG HUG*" -Howie's VampireGirl
"I had the c.d,(my mom bought it, she liked them first)and was like "they can sing, but they are not all that." One day in the store, I saw them on the cover of TEEN PEOPLE, I was like I gotta get this magazine, cuz they look kind of good. I bought it, read the article and found that they are more than a guy group that sings. They each have so much in common with me." -Nicole Wade
"when i first heard quit playin games with my heart, the first song released in the us, i freaked b/c it was so good. i found out who it was and i kept listening to the radio to hear more of their songs. i was watching tv one day and saw the everybody video and fell more in love with them. so i went out and bought the cd, all access video, posters, books, and a bunch of other stuff about BsB. thats how i became a BsB fan." -Teresa
"i heard "as long as you love me" on da radio. Dat song was off da hook!! I thought "quit PLayin Games" was alright, but asaylm made me a BSB fan. P.S. I'm a dude(i'm straight)I like all kinds of music dance, R&B, and rap etc. I just think the Bsb makes smooth music. I ain't gay or nothin like dat." -Snoop
"I was setting the table, and the "Quit Playin' Games" video came on MTV. I sat and stared at the blond beauty on the screen. I called my friend Amber, and from that day on we were determined to find out who he was. I remembered the name Backstreet Boys from a magazine I had. So I went and looked at it. I found out that his name was Nick (Nicky) Carter. From then on tI was hooked!! And still am!" -Morgan Bayer
"I was trying to make this one guy jealous, and I was flipping this Seventeen magazine (I think) and saw these okay looking group called the Backstreet Boys. Nick was cute and innocent looking, so I went to the Internet to check it out more and listened to some of the song and got surprised that they sang it. They were very popular by then. My best friend in IL sometimes tells me about them and talks about Howie (her fav BSB). I'm like: "What about the tall blond guy?" She's like:"That's Nick." I'm like:"He's cute. I like him..." Then I told my friends that I like another guy. I cut a wallet size photo of Nick and showed it to my friends. They're like:"He's cute. What's his name?" I told them Nick. They don't listen to R&B kind so they don't know who he is. This guy was so ticked that he bugged the heck out of me and now I have the BSB wallpaper in my room... We're moving to FL this Dec. so I get I'll get to go to one of their concerts (they didn't perform here i! n HI). I have most of the mags that have pix of them, their albums, vids, and so much more. You get the idea..." -Carian Rose Dudgeon
"i was in the car in Medellin colombia out of florida and i heard the5 most wounderful vioces in the world come on the radio but it wasn't till i got back to miami that i saw them 4 the 1st time and became a total bsb fan" -Alicia
