Coach's Corner Critique

Just an average CC this week.

They start off by showing a clip of Roger Nielson explaining how Cherry sent him a letter about how the Flyers are currently going through what Cherry's Bruins went through one year.  Ron says to Don "Shows a soft side..." but Cherry cut him off before Ron could say too much.

They show a clip of a "bouncer" - a puck that bounces and goes in.  It was a shot by Stapleton on Fuhr.  They showed three different angles and only on the last one could you really see it.  They should have just showed the last angle, the other two angles were a waste of time.

They get into the Philly - St. Louis game....the game where Philly had two goals dissallowed and a non-holding the stick call which led to Nielson tossing the stick on the ice.  I thought this segment could have been done better, instead it was the standard complaint about how the rule is too rigid.

They show a shot of MacInnis getting a puck in the head and skating right off and coming back a minute later.  Cherry loves stuff like this and has always maintained if you're really hurt stay down but if you're just hurting get to the bench.

They mention the Chicago - Edmonton deal just before the deadline.  Cherry likes the deal for Edmonton as they get 4 Canadian guys (I think they are the cheapest now:)), but other than that they don't get into the deal at all.

Ron mentions that Odelien didn't want to fight Tie (in the first period that night) but then cut it short as they had to sign off.

4.5 out of 10.
