The first CC of the 1999-2000 Season (well the first on a Leaf Broadcast) - working on my comments!
Alright, I'm finally getting around to this. Right off the bat Don is complaining - great :) He's complaining that he thought one of his Ice Dogs (a 16 year old) was going to have a feature done on him but HNIC ran a big feature on the Sedin twins and only a few words (I guess) on the Ice Dog. This gets Don going, he repeatedly calls the Sedin twins (you know the two Swedish brothers drafted by Vancouver) the "Bobbsy Twins" - hilarious, absolutely hilarious. Then Ron gets him going on whether it was a smart move by Burke - Cherry says "Don't get me started, he's a good Irish guy, gotta like those Irish guys for having guts but...." at this point I thought Don was going to say the Irish were short on brains - which would have been hilarious but he would have likely been attacked later hahha. : 0 Anyway, Don isn't happy Burke traded a pick and McCabe in order to draft the twins.... Good little segment, Don's just venting but it was funny.
On to Sundin - Don seems to like Sundin. Anyway, they show his goal vs. the Habs that night and he does the "Coach" bit by saying that defenders on the point have to be careful that they don't try something fancy, get it in on the boards or you'll get burned, the way Sundin burned the Habs on that play.
Nice comment on the Hab C - Don obviously would have liked Corson to have it but commented that they just give it to the guy with the most goals now - good point, he should have driven it home a little better instead of worrying about getting in trouble.
Don and Ron both rip the Leafs (very carefully cause you can't rip them on CBC) for not spending more money. Don makes a hilarious comment - very sarcastic about expecting them to put a better product on the ice when the seats cost so much. :) Most of you know that I complain about this as well. Ron says they should sign Yushkevich (since done).
Don does a thing for Lonny Bohonos - stating that he's in the minors because of a two-way contract and he should be playing. He rips Hoglund (who took Lonny's spot - you could argue) for not being good enough. Hoglund later scored in that game and has at least another goal since then.
I agree with Kevin, nice comment about more Russians on the Leafs than French on Montreal - Don's just trying to stir up trouble.
They show a clip last year about how Don says the Stanley Cup might end up being decided in game 7 by one of these crease violations. Sure enough it happened (but in game 6 - remember the Hull goal) - this makes Don look brilliant, but we all knew that crease rule sucked. I've already seen quite a few goals that wouldn't have counted last year because someone had a toe or heel in the crease.
Overall a good CC - about a 6.5 out of 10. I expect a much better CC this week (tonight) as several free agents have been signed since last week, and there were the numerous Duck suspensions (a great topic) as well as the Probert and Manson suspensions. Great potential for the CC tonight if they talk about that. Don wants to talk about Jason Wooley this week (didn't have time last week)....hopefully he'll forget about that and get on the Duck and Hawk suspensions.

Well doesn't it feel good to have hockey back. And a great way to start the season 4-1 win over the Habs.
Now I know that I didn't do too many of these last year but I promise to get more involved this year.
Pretty good CC as well. Loved the Bobbsy twin line that Don used in referance to the Sedin twins.
Now I am doing this somewhat blind because I like to see what Scott writes then I usually agree or disagree with what he says and try to get some things going between us. However I wanted to get this down and done before Scott gets on my back. However if there is something that Scott writes that I feel is worth commenting on I will add an update to this later.
Now Ron and Don where in mid season form for this one. I got a kick out of Don saying that the leafs had more Russians then the Habs do French people. Ron was like yeah so whats the point. You just knew Don would get some Russian stuff in there early.
Now like I said I am doing this blind so it will be short.
However I wanted to say that the clip at the end on Don saying that the toe in the crease could happen in the 7th game of the Stanley Cup and in OT was great. He was so against that rule.

and I are going to the game on the 20th of October against Carolina. We
have like standing room seats obstructed view. Anybody ever had these seats.
