Coach's Corner Critique
Scott:
November 20, 1999
This was the night the Leafs played
the Rangers - here's the rundown.
-
They start out by taling about how
good the Leafs look in the first period and the Rangers were brutal - in
hindsight I think the Leafs almost lost that game and eventually won it
in O.T. They talk about the fate of Muckler...boring stuff.
-
They show the new Minny Jersey - Don
makes a crack about how the league is up to 100 teams now. Good point
though, there are too many teams! Anyway, Don says the jersey is
"okay".
-
A piece on McCarty's Father - nice.
-
A cool goal by Hejduk - nice.
-
A segment on icing - and how all these
guys are getting hurt. Don talks about how guys in the past would
respect the call and not run the guy from behind - but those are the old
days. Don usually brings this up once in awhile and the timing seemed
right.
-
A bit on how a guy in the minors came
back from a health problem - usual Cherry motivational speech - which is
good to hear once in a while.
Weak CC - 5.5 out of 10. Just
an average CC.
